70 <br />W <br />declare that said petition is signed by not less than -one-fourth in•number of <br />the qualified electors residing in the territory described therein, as shown <br />by the registration of voters of the County of San Mateo, said County of San <br />Mateo being the county in irhich such territory is situated; <br />THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD, CITY DOES RESOLVE AND DETEM%1INE that <br />It is the intention of said Council to call a special election giving at least <br />fifty days notice thereof and to submit to the electors residing in the terri- <br />tory proposed by such petition to be annexed to such municipal corporation <br />the question whether such territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in and <br />made a part of such municipal corporation; <br />Notice is hereby given that up to the tour of 9:00 o'clock P.M. of Monday, <br />the 6th day of January, 1947, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said <br />City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, any person owing real property <br />within such territory above described and having any objections to the proposed <br />annexation may appear before the legislative body and show cause why such <br />territory should not be so annexed to the City of Redwood. City; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall'cause a copy of this <br />resolution to be published once a. week for two successive weeks in the Redwood <br />City Tribune, a daily (except Sunday) newspaper of general circulation pub- <br />lished and circulated within said City of Redwood City, said publication to <br />be had prior to January 6, 1947; the date herein set for the hearing of ob- <br />jections to the proposed annexation; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a special electionA s hereby ordered, pro- <br />claimed and called on Tuesday, the 11th day of February, 1947, for the pur- <br />pose of submitting to the electors residing in the territory hereinabove'de- <br />scribed the following proposition: <br />Proposition No.l. "Shall Redwood Village No. 1 be annpxpd to the <br />City of Redwood City and the property therein, after such annexation, be <br />subject to taxation equally with the property within said City of <br />Redwood City?1' <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such territory so specifically described is <br />hereby referred to as Redwood Village No. 1, and is so to be indicated on <br />the ballots to be used in the election at which the question of said annex- <br />ation is submitted; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the polls for said election shall be open <br />at 7:00 o'clock A.M. on the day of said special election and shall be open <br />until 7:00 o'clock P.M. of said day, when the polls shall be closed; except <br />that. if at the hour of closing there are any voters in the polling place, or <br />In line at the door, who are qualified to vote and who have not been able <br />to do so since appearing, the polls shall be kept open a sufficient time to <br />enable them to vote, but no one who shall arrive at the polling place after <br />7:00 o'clock P.M. of said day shall be entitled to vote, although the polls <br />may be open when they arrive. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that for the purpose of holding and conducting <br />such special.election said territory herein described and referred to as <br />"Redwood Village No. 1" is hereby districted into and there is hereby estab- <br />lished one voting precinct, and the polling place and the election officers <br />for such precinct are hereby fixed at and named as follows: <br />Voting Precinct No. 1, comprising all of the territory within the <br />exterior boundaries of the property hereinabove described and herein proposed <br />to be annexed. The polling place thereof shall bn the residence of <br />M. P. Traver, <br />410 Flynn Street <br />Redwood City, California <br />and the election officers therefor are: <br />Inspector: -RALPH L.
