72 S <br />and place when and where any and all persons having any objections to said pro- <br />posed work.or improvement, or to said waiver of assessment, may appear before <br />said Council and show cause why this proposed improvement should not be carried <br />out in accordance with this resolution of intention. <br />Sec. 5. The Clerk of said City shall cause this Resolution of Intention to <br />be published twice in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily newspaper published and <br />circulated in said City of Redwood City, which said newspaper is hereby desig- <br />nated for that purpose. <br />Sec. 6. The Superintendent of Streets of said City shall cause to be con- <br />spicuously posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement <br />above described, notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention, in the <br />time, form and manner prescribed by law. <br />I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of resolution adopted <br />by the City Council of the City of Redwood City, California, at a• regular meeting <br />thereof held on the 16th day of December, 1946, by the following vote of the <br />members thereof: <br />AYES, and in favor thereof, Councilmen: ARMSTRONq, BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, <br />McNULTY, SWIFT and WERDER. <br />ABSENT: Councilman: MAYOR HILTON. <br />RALPH S. HILTON <br />Mayor - of the City of Redwood City <br />.Communication was received from the Recreation Commission recommending adoption of <br />the -"Planned Progress" plan as eiibmitted by the Recreation Master Planner, <br />William Penn Mott, Jr. It was decided to acknowledge the communication and <br />advise the•Commission that the second meeting of JanuaPy had been set for the <br />}'} presentation of the plan. City Manager Blom stated that some of the Improve- <br />ments, such as improving of the softball diamonds, etc., could be started <br />now and asked authorization to do so before the plan was formally approved. <br />Councilman Werder moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, that the City <br />Manager -be authorized to proceed with plans for hardball diamond in Community <br />Center; improvement of the present soft ball diamond in Hawes Park and pre- <br />paration of new soft ball diamond, in Hawes Park and some work in Stafford <br />Park. Under the question, Councilman Granger asked if work could -be done <br />In regard to the parking area in California Square. -City Manager Blom ad- <br />vised he wished to have Mr. Mott prepare these plans. It was the opinion that <br />something should be done toward having the parking lot on California Square <br />•completed. Motion passed unanimously. <br />City Attorney McCarthy advised that the firm of Wilsey and Broughton had been <br />engaged to prepare plans and specifications for improvements on Laurel and <br />Stambaugh, etc. and stated a resolution was necessary ordering^this work <br />done. Councilman Britschgi offered resolution ordering plans and specifi- <br />cations for improvements.in Laurel, Stambaugh, etc., and moved its adoption, <br />seconded by Councilman Werder.
