11 <br />intended to enter a protest. 7 9 <br />Affidavit of mailing notices to property owners within 275 feet of the Woments•Club House notifying of <br />c <br />public hearing for a dancing school application by Mildred Buhler, was ordered'filed'on motion of <br />Councilman Armstrong, seconded by Councilman Granger. Motion passed unanimously. , <br />The Mayor called for protestants to the granting of the dancing school permit to Mrs.�Buhler. There <br />were no protests. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Werder, that a permit for a <br />dancing school at the Women's Club House be granted Mrs. Mildred.Buhler. Motion passes unanimously. <br />City Attorney McCarthy asked that the report on status of delinquent bonds be carried on the agenda. He <br />reported that he had not had an opportunity to study this matter due to illness. The matter was <br />i <br />ordered placed on the agenda. <br />City Manager Blom reported that work outlined as necessary by the Health Department, Fire Inspector and <br />i <br />a. Building Inspector at the restaurant at 768 Woodside Road had not as yet been completed and asked <br />that the matter of issuing a lioense be carried on the agenda. The matter was ordered carried on <br />the agenda. <br />City Treasurer Dodge reported that in regard to the deduction of^86.41 by the State on the E1 Camino Real <br />and James Avenue project, he had checked the records and discovered that in 1942 on Project 16, <br />sever extension at 5 Points, $86.41 had been unexpended on that project. The money had been retained <br />by the city and included in the gas tax and carried in the treasury since that time. The State did <br />not call attention to this balance until the E1 Camino Real and James Avenue project. <br />Councilman McNulty moved, seconded by Councilman Werder, filing of affidavit of publication of Ordinance <br />No. 568 which amends Ordinance No. 486 and prohibits double parking. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, adoption of ordinance No. 568- Under the <br />question, Councilman Warder expressed the opinion that the ordinance prohibits parking on California <br />i <br />Street and he did not believe that was advisable. He believed the matter should be tabled to allow <br />the Planning Commission and Master Planners opportunity to make a report. Councilman Britsohgi also <br />i <br />j questioned no parking on Perry Street. After some discussion and upon advice of the City Attorney <br />that a portion of the ordinance could be deleted, Councilman Granger amended -his motion with the <br />consent of the second to adopt Ordinance No- 568 with the deletion of Section 3- On roll call, <br />ordinance was unanimously adopted. <br />City Attorney McCarthy advised that an error had been made in the description of the annexation of Alden <br />i <br />Subdivision in the resolution which had been published and advised that the resolution would have <br />to be republished. The error was that the whole of the Alden Subdivision had been described rather <br />than a small triangular piece. Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman Werder, adoption <br />i <br />of resolution of intention to annex a portion of Alden Subdivision. On roll call, resolution <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />RESOLUTION No. 415 <br />GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TO THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, TO BE KNOWN AS ALDEN SUBDIVISION. <br />I WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of that certain Act of the Legislature of the State of <br />California, entitled "An act to provide for the alteration of the boundaries of incorporated towns <br />and cities by the annexation of uninhabited territory thereto and for the'inoorporation of such <br />annexed territory in and as a part of such municipality, and for the districting, government and <br />municipal control of such annexed territory, approved May 209 1939 (Stats. of 1939, Chapter 297, <br />page 1567), there was, on the 2d day of December, 1946, filed with the Council of the City of <br />Redwood City, a petition in writing, requesting that the uninhabited territory hereinafter described <br />be annexed to, incorporated and included in and made a part of said City of Redwood City; and <br />YEEREAS the exterior boundaries of said territory are described in said petition, and said <br />territory is contiguous to the limits and boundary of said City of Redwood City, and are partiou- <br />larly described as follows: <br />BEGINNING at the intersection of the Southwesterly line of the Sweeney Ranch as <br />said line is shovm on a map entitled "Map of Subdivisions of Sweeney Ranch near Redwood <br />City, San Mateo County", filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County, <br />State of California, on June 24, 1898, in Book "C" of Maps at page 36, with the South- <br />easterly boundary line of said City of Redwood City; thence North 20 421 30" west 577.86 <br />
