90 <br />feet to the center of Spring Street; as shown on a map entitled "Dumbarton Acres near Redwood <br />City, California'! recorded June 7, 1927 in Volume 16 of Maps at pages 8 and 9, Records of <br />San Mateo County; thence South 750 261, East 311.99 feet; thence South 280 50, 30" West <br />569.37 feet to the point of beginning. <br />WHEREAS the Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby determine and declare that said peti- <br />tion is signed by the owners of not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land described <br />in said petition, and the owners of said land represent not less than one fourth (11L�) of the <br />assessed value of such territory as described in said petition, according to the last preceding <br />equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo, said County being the County in which said <br />territory hereinbefore described is situated, <br />NOW: THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Redwood City does by this Resolution give notice <br />of such proposed annexation and does further fix Monday, the 3d day of February, 1947, at the <br />hour of'8 o'clock p.m. at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City of Redwood City as <br />the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real property within said territory <br />so proposed to be annexed, and having any objection to the proposed annexation, may appear <br />before said City Council and show cause why said territory should not be so annexed. <br />IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the City Clerk of the City of Redwood City shall cause a copy <br />of this resolution to be published at least once a week for two successive weeks prior to the <br />date fixed for said hearing; and <br />IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that at any time not later than the hour set for hearing objections <br />to the proposed annexation, any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed <br />may filed written protest against the proposed annexation. Such protests shall state the name <br />or names of the owner or owners or the property affected thereby, and the description and area <br />of such property in general terms. <br />The territory herein described and proposed to be annexed to said City of Redwood City is <br />and shall be known as Alden Subdivision. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof <br />held on the 6th day of January, 1947, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />COUNCILMEN: AINSTRONG, BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, MONULTY, SWIFT, WERDER, and Mayor HILTON. <br />NOES: Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT: Councilmen: NONE <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S. W. HILTON <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />City Manager Blom reported that he had a report from the Health Department in regard to the sewage <br />problem at Ebener and Poplar Streets. The owner was granted three additional days in which to <br />eliminate the nuisance and the time will be up tomorrow. If the matter is not properly taken <br />care of, the Health Departnent will file a complaint and start action to abate the nuisance. <br />In addition to the original complaint, there are three men living in a shack which, in the <br />opinion of the Health Inspector, should not be inhabited. He advised that the Building In- <br />spector would have to make an inspection of the premises and requested that abatement proceed- <br />ings be instituted. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Werder, that abatement <br />proceedings be instituted against shack on property at Ebener and Poplar Streets. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman Werder, that affidavits of publication of notice <br />of intention to close alley in Broadway Map No. 1, and affidavit of posting notice of public <br />improvement, alley closing, be filed. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Councilman McNulty offered resolution ordering the closing and abatement of alley in Broadway Map <br />No. 1 and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Werder.
