RESOLUTION No -416 81 <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CLOSING AND ABONDONING OF, ALLEYS. <br />RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Redwood City, that <br />WHEREAS, said City Council did on the 16th day of December,' 1946, adopt its certain Resolution <br />of Intention No- 412 to order the closing up and abandonment of a portion of the following ease- <br />ments, public streets, highways, alleys, ways and places, in the City of Redwood City, County of <br />San Mateo, State of California, described as: <br />N i1� The alley in Block 3 and the alley easterly of Beech Street and northerly of <br />Broadway, as shown on the Map of Broadway Map No* 1* <br />WHEREAS, said Resolution of Intention recited that said proceedings were being undertaken <br />under and pursuant to Article II of that certain ordinance of the City of Redwood City numbered <br />333, known as "Redwood City Improvement Procedure Code", adopted March 14, 19320 as amended, and <br />did further determine and declare that in the opinion of said Council no assessment was necessary <br />for said proceeding, and therefore did not define or describe any assessment district in said <br />resolution; <br />WHEREAS , said Resolution of Intention was duly published, and notices of its passage, en- <br />titled "Notice of Public Improvement" were duly posted in the time, manner and form provide by <br />law, all as appears from the affidavits of publication and posting on file in the office of the <br />City Clerk of said City; <br />WHEREAS, Monday, the 6th day of January, 1947, at the hour of eight o'clock P. M., at the <br />Council Chambers of the City Council of said City in the City Hall in the City of Redwood City <br />was fixed in said Resolution of Intention as the time and place when and where any and all persons <br />having any objections to said proposed work and improvement, or to said waiver of assessment, <br />might appear before said Council and show cause why said proposed improvement should not be <br />carried out in accordance with said Resolution of Intention; and <br />WHEREAS, no objections of any kind or character have been made or filed against said pro- <br />posed work or improvement or to said waiver of assessment* <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council .of said City of Redwood City finds as follows: <br />1. That no assessment is necessary in this prooeeding. <br />2- That none of the easements, public streets, alleys, ways, and places hereinabove described <br />now are or ever have been used as easements, highways, streets, alleys, ways or places by or for <br />the public. <br />3* That it is to the best interests of said city that the aforesaid easements, public high- <br />ways, streets, alleys, ways and places be closed up and abondoned* <br />_ IT IS THEREFORE HEREBY ORDERED that the aforesaid easements, public highways, streets, alleys, <br />U <br />ways and places be closed up and abondoned. <br />I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of resolution adopted by the City Council of <br />Redwood City, California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th day of January, 1947, by <br />the following vote of the members thereof: <br />AYES, and in favor thereof, Councilmen: ARMSTRONG, BRITSCHGI,, GRANGER, MoNULTY, SWIFT, <br />WERDER and Mayor HILTON. <br />NOES, Councilmen- NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen; NONE <br />RALPH S. HILTON <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />Councilman Werder suggested that the matter of the control of the sale of Christmas trees be referred <br />to the committee studying the amendment to -the business license ordinance and that the matter be <br />dropped from the agenda* This suggestion was accepted* <br />City Manager Blom presented a sketch showing the location in which parking meters are to be located and <br />the time limit in the various ;ones. After studying the sketch, Councilman Armstrong moved <br />adoption of resolution establishing zones and setting time limits for parking meters, seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty.
