Morgan moved that this be carried on the agenda, seconded by Councilman Granger, <br />and carried. <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTIN DEED TO LOTS`16 and 17, Block 42, Central Park No.2, condemned prop- <br />erty of Rosario Turek, Sunnyvale, Route 1, Box 406. Deed was on deposit at the <br />title company. Councilman Holmquist offered resolution and moved adoption accept- <br />ing deed on the purchase of the property, seconded by Councilman Swift. Motion <br />carried on roll call. Councilman Britschgi and Spillers noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION No. 654 <br />ACCEPTING DEED FROM ROSARIO S. TUREK AND JOHN W. TUREK <br />RESOLVED, that a deed. of real property from ROSARIO S. TUREK and JOHN If. TUREK, <br />her husband to the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY be, and it hereby is, accepted by and on <br />behalf of the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY. <br />Such deed conveys all that real property situate in the City of Redwood City, <br />County of San Mateo, State of California, described as follows: <br />Lots 16 and 17 in B1ock'42, as designated on the map entitled 11MAP NO.2 <br />CENTRAL PARK REDWOOD CITY SAN MATEO COUNTY°, which map was filed in the <br />office of the Recorder of San Mateo County, State of California, on <br />July 20, 1912 in Book S of Maps at pages 15 and 16. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of January, 1949, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, SWIFT, and Mayor WERDER. <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S. M. WERDER <br />Mayor of uhe City of Redwood City <br />COUNCII24AN GRA14GER STATED THAT SEVERAL YEARS AGO THE COUNCIL ESTABLISHED A DEADLINE <br />OF 5 P.M. FRIDAY FOR OFFICIAL BUSI14ESS TO BE IN FOR THE AGENDA. Councilman Granger <br />moved that this practice be enforced and that the press notify the public on this, <br />seconded'by Councilman Swift, and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN MORGAN STATED THAT ROOTS OF TREES WERE BLOCKING SE1ER AT HARRISON AND MYRTLE <br />STREETS, which resulted in considerable expense for one of the property owners. <br />The question raised was whether the City would cut roots back to property line, <br />City Engineer Jain did not think this would solve the problem as the roots would <br />grow again and they could not undertake to remove a tree privately owned. It was <br />suggested that City Manager Rolison write a letter to the owners of the tree asking <br />them to remove it. This was placed on the. agenda on motion of Councilman Morgan, <br />City Attorney Currie to check, seconded by Councilman Granger, and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN HCLMQUIST STATED THAT WHEN IT RAINED, water stood in low spot at the corner <br />of Lowell and Katherine and that passing motorists gave pedestrains a shower. <br />City Engineer Jain was to check this. <br />PETER SORENSEN APPEARED IN regards to request by Council that Streets be cleaned up <br />where his crew had been working. He stated that the streets were cleaned up but <br />that the mud came from the service station above after the rain. <br />I <br />
