Bonding company was <br />notified each month in a report. The type of paving to be laid could not be done <br />in the rain. Councilman Granger moved that City Engineer,Jain and proper authori- <br />ties notify the bonding company that the City was not pleased with the delay on this <br />project and await a decision from them, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, and carried. <br />PENINSULA CELEBRATION ASSOCIATION requested the use of the Council Chambers to meet the <br />4th Monday of each month for association meetings. Councilman,Britschgi moved <br />that the request be granted providing the date did not conflict with City business <br />meetings, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried. <br />RED CROSS SEQUOIA CHAPTER URGED ME14BERS OF DISASTER COMMITTEE TO ATTEND THE ROUNDTABLE <br />WORKSHOP on Wednesday, February 23rd, 1949 at 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. at the <br />Chapter House, 1794 Broadway. In 1945 the property was sold for taxes <br />to Ralph &.Irene Shoop, Lots 1, 2, 3, & 4, Block 3, Villa Tract in the Re -Subdivi- <br />sion of Lot 50, Reese Subdivision. A few weeks later the County sold the same <br />property to Thomas J. and Bridgie Callan. The District Court of Appeals recently <br />reversed the Superior Court and sustained the City's tax deed to the Shoops. On <br />motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, the matter was <br />referred to City Attorney Currie, and carried. <br />PENINSULA DIVISION, LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES, ammounced a dinner meeting, Thursday, <br />February 17, 1949 at 7:00 P.M. at the Hotel Lyndon, Los Gatos. City Clerk Dodge <br />to check later for a list of those who wished to attend. <br />MR. RALPH GREENE, GREEN BROS., requested letter of final acceptance and maintenance on <br />Carroll Park Subdivision from City Engineer Jain in order that he might fulfill his <br />obligation to the Federal Housing Administration and Veteran's Bureau. City Engin- <br />eer Jain stated that the letter had been returned as of this date which had been <br />mailed to Mr. Greene. There was no forwarding address. Contents of the letter <br />after inspection of tract were that immediate final acceptance would be given on <br />behalf of the City when the following items were corrected: - <br />(1) Forms at repaired driveways in front of 1718, 1774, and 1798 Louisana <br />Street had not been removed. <br />(2) Bases of electrolier standards had not been cleaned or painted. <br />(3) Forms around concrete footings for electroliers had not been removed. <br />(4) In front of driveway strips and house -entry walks, cement grout had not <br />been cleaned off main sidewalks. <br />Councilman Granger moved that Mr. Jain be authorized to give a letter of final <br />acceptance as soon as minor items were corrected, seconded by Councilman Morgan, <br />and carried. <br />IL <br />I <br />
