Councilman <br />Granger moved that the permit be granted if approved by the Planning Commission. <br />Motion died for lack of a second. Mayor Werder turned over the chair temporarily <br />to Councilman Granger and moved that the permit be granted. Lodi. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes of August 16th and Adjourned meeting of August.30th were <br />approved as mailed with a correction in the August 16th minutes, page 6 from <br />"Resolution of Preliminary Determination,'Johnson Street.11, to read "Resolution <br />Determining to Make Improvements without Compliance with Investigation Act", on <br />motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried. <br />PERMIT TO CONDUCT DANCES PENINSULA HOTEL, 234.0 E1 Camino Real, Arnold Cabral, granted on <br />motion of Councilman Swift, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried after re- <br />ports of Police Chief Collins and Fire Inspector Drivon appeared favorable. <br />VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS, P. C. Kirk, Commander, requested paint for the Veterans Build- <br />ing, labor to be supplied by the organization. City Manager Rolison explained pre- <br />vious budget had carried 9100 for the Veterans Building none of which had ben ex- <br />pended, but that no appropriation had been included in this year'e.budget. On <br />motion of Councilman Holmquist,, seconded by Councilman Morgan expenditure not to <br />exceed $100 was allowed, transfer from unbudgeted reserve to be made when bill is <br />received. Motion carried. <br />COMMUNICATION FROM LAND <br />3 <br />DEVELOPMENT <br />COMPANY regarding Woodside Terrace No. 1 <br />in <br />which <br />subdivider agrees <br />to open and <br />improve Vitginia Avenue from the boundary <br />of <br />Woodside <br />Terrace No.l to Woodside Road, also to give the City an option for one year from <br />September 4th to purchase five acres of land contiguous to the creek and across <br />from or near Woodside Terrace No. 1 for the purpose of establishing a recreation <br />area. City Attorney Currie explained these concessions were conditions under which <br />final map of the subdivision would be approved for filing. On motion of Councilman <br />Morgan, seconded by Councilman Spillers, communication was ordered filed for record. <br />Motion carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION LETTER RESCINDING PREVIOUS RECOMMENDATION TO RE -SUBDIVIDE LOTS 3 and <br />4, Eaton Avenue Villas was read by Clerk Ralph Dodge.
