City Engineer Jain presented plans <br />showing building: After discussion Councilman Britschgi moved that extra driveways <br />be denied, seconded by Councilman Granger, -and carried. <br />EQUIPMENT FOR PLAY AREA, STAFFORD PARK. -City Manager Rolison stated he had not had <br />occasion to study this with the Recreation Commission. It was placed on the agenda <br />for the next meeting, <br />PROPOSED WITHDRAWAL, FRIENDLY ACRES. City Attorney Currie stated the petition prepared <br />and presented by attorney was in his opinion -insufficient. On recommendation of City <br />j <br />Attorney Currie, that this be dropped from the agenda, Councilman Morgan so moved, <br />i <br />seconded by Councilman Britschgi, and carried. <br />AMENDMENT TO ZONING ORDINANCE 600, Section 15.1 permitting crop and tree farming, park_ <br />Ing lots for.automobiles, second one -family dwellings on same lot, providing use <br />permit to be issued. Affidavit was ordered filed on motion of Councilman Granger, <br />seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried. <br />ORDINANCE No. 600-2. Amending Section 15.1 to zoning Ordinance No. 600 was adopted on <br />E <br />- <br />'b: <br />motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried on roll <br />3 <br />call. Councilman Spillers noted absent. <br />} <br />APPOINTMENT TO PERSONNEL BOARD. Councilman Britschgi g presented the name of Mr. Floyd J. <br />{ <br />Curtis, 1G33 Blandford Avenue, graduate of University of Southern California School <br />of Government; University of Washington D. C. for law degree. Mr. Curtis had served <br />with the U. S. Civil Service Commission as Attorney for Loyalty Board and since his <br />appointment in San Francisco he had moved to Redwood. City some two months ago and <br />Ii <br />had volunteered to serve on the board. Councilman Britschgi moved that Mr. Curtis <br />`i <br />be appointed, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried. Councilman Britschgi <br />I <br />moved that he be notified to attend next Council meeting to take oath of office, <br />seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. <br />i <br />APPOINTMENT TO PLANNING COMMISSION. Councilman Granger offered the,name of Mr. Emil G. <br />Steinegger and moved,.that he be appointed, seconded by'Councilman Morgan, and carried. <br />He was to be notified also to, attend the Council meeting for oath of office. <br />�I <br />I..: <br />COLLECTABLE FEES ON SIGN ORDINANCE. Fees for small signs were $2.50 each. Building and <br />real estate signs were discussed. Mrs. Stuart Campbell appeared and; thought property <br />owners trying to sell lots should not have to pay fee for'signs. There was no fee <br />�i <br />id <br />for this type of sign, it was a question of enforcing the ordinance as it now existed. <br />Col. H. W. Edmonds appeared, and stated he was not there representing the Real <br />ji <br />Estate Board, but some time ago they had endeavored to keep the number of signs <br />!i <br />limited on any one real estate lot in order not to cheapen property. Councilman <br />I! <br />Granger thought the Sign Ordinance originally came from this board for Council's <br />is k <br />j ( <br />approval and recommendation, and suggested that it be referred_to them now for their <br />recommendation.. Mayor Werder requested that Col. Edmonds give information of Council's <br />intent to the board. Councilman Granger moved that a copy of this be sent to the <br />+:! <br />i <br />Real Estate Board asking for their recommendation for and against It and copy of <br />i( <br />ordinance referred to the Planning Commission, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and <br />carried. <br />Fj <br />ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE, VIRGINIA AVENUE.
