It was so moved by Councilman Holm- <br />quist, seconded by Councilman Granger, and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN SWIFT REPORTED OId TAXICAB ORDINANCE COMMITTEE. Councilman Spillers having been <br />on vacation was not prepared to render a report. Councilman Swift advised that a <br />j meeting had been held with the present taxicab owners and the matter gone over. Sev- <br />eral suggestions were offered some of which might be approved by the Council. After <br />discussion, it was decided that Councilmen Spillers and Swift would meet with City <br />Attorney Currie to go over the matter, taxicab representatives to be present if so <br />desired. <br />ABAT04ENT - ASSENZA PROPERTY. Additional 60 day extension allowed Mr. Assenza on motion <br />of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Spillers. Motion carried. <br />{ ABATEMENT - WYSS PROPERTY, STAMBAUGH STREET. Building Inspector Duncan reported that Mr. <br />Wyss had taken out a permit to make necessary repairs and alterations of the house <br />f <br />in question. On motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Morgan, matter <br />was placed on the agenda for the meeting of November'lst. <br />DISCUSSION ON CONDITION OF BUILDINGS ON BROADWAY. After discussion it was decided to put <br />off further discussion until the end of the. year when the entire matter would be <br />again covered by reports of the three agencies, anmely, Health Department, Building <br />and Fire Departments. Councilman Britschgi stated some of the merchants had noticed <br />a falling off of business which they thought was due to the late publicity. Council- <br />man Granger was of the opinion that until the building owned by the City was torn <br />down, no further action should be taken. The concensus of opinion was that in fair- <br />ness to the owners and tenants of the property, no further action should be taken at <br />this time. Councilman Holmquist moved, seconded by Councilman Morgan that reports <br />be brought in at the first meeting in December. Motion carried. <br />ABATEMENT - BUILDING 720 HAMILTON AND SHEDS AT REAR OF 2300 and 2376 Broadway. Nothing <br />having been done toward tearing these buildings down, it was moved by Councilman <br />Granger, seconded by Councilman Morgan that buildings be posted. City Attorney <br />Currie will prepare the necessary resolution for the next regular meeting. <br />PAVING PERRY PARKING LOT. This was the meeting set for the appearance of Mr. H. W. <br />Treichel, owner of the Sequoia Laundry to discuss the proposed easement for a 5 foot <br />sidewalk along side of his building. Mr. Treichel had previously offered to con- <br />struct sidewalk at his own expense, however, City Manager Rolison explained that <br />this would reduce the area of the lot at the widest point. On motion of Councilman <br />Granger, seconded by Councilman Spillers, City Attorney Currie was instructed to con- <br />tact Mr.r Treichel 'to discuss the matter and report back to the Council. Motion <br />carried. In the meantime, City Engineer Jain was instructed to make some emergency <br />repairs to the parking lot in the way of filling holes, etc., if same could be done <br />without too great expense. <br />L <br />BALANCE of $165 due Title Company on Perry Street Parking Lot. Inasmuch as more money <br />was forthcoming from the merchants it was decided to hold up this bill, the title <br />company to withhold the amount in question from the amount received. <br />BUILDING VIOLATION, LENOLT. Building Inspector received a written statement from Mr. <br />G. H. Hoque to the effect that service porch was built on to his residence by Mr. <br />H. H. Weiner in June 1945- Search of the records did not disclose any permit <br />issued to Mr. Weiner. City Attorney Currie advised complaint could be issued. On <br />
