<br />Stafford and Officer Mengel were working with the children on the problem of crossing
<br />and getting them to cross at Jefferson and Cleveland.
<br />CLAIMS Nos- 5512 and 5595 inclusive in the amount of $25,023.98 were approved for payment
<br />on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried.

<br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen: C. A. Britschgi, Floyd D.
<br />Granger, H. E. Holmquist, Albert H. Morgan, Jr., Robt. V. Spillers, A. V. Swift, Mayor
<br />W. M. Werder, and City Clerk R. S. Dodge.. Also present were: City Manager E. A.
<br />Rolison, City Engineer Glenn M. -Jain, Administrative Assistant Richard D. Miller,
<br />Building Inspector L. M. Duncan, and Water Superintendent H. L. Winter.
<br />MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 8:00 P.M. On motion of Councilman Britschgi, 'seconded`by'
<br />'Councilman Spillers, meeting was adjourned to 8:30 or'9:45 P -K,
<br />MEETING•RECONVENED AT 9:45 P.M. All Councilmen noted present.
<br />COMMUNICATION FROM MR. C. J. Cbllingan, Secretary & Treasurer of the Collen Construction
<br />Company requested refund of building permit fees issued by the Building Inspeetbr
<br />on Lots 1 to 45, and 1 to'22, Blocks 4 and 5, Redwood Terrace"No. 1. After due
<br />consideration, Councilman Spillers moved, seconded by Councilman Swift that the fees
<br />amounting to $1232.00 be refunded. Motion carried, Councilman Britschgi and Morgan
<br />voting No.
<br />ON MOTION OF COUNCILMAN SPILLERS, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN SWIFT, Council approved City
<br />Building Inspector Duncan issuing final inspection tags on the homes recently con-
<br />structed by the Collen Construction Company in the Redwood Terrace No. 1 area, pro-
<br />viding the construction met the minimum requirements of the City. Motion carried.
<br />AFTER DISCUSSION OF THE REQUEST FOR WATER SERVICE BY GARCIA`AT No. 17 Truman Street,
<br />Redwood Terrace No. 1, Councilman Granger moved refusal of connection on interpre-
<br />tation of water department rules and regulations dated January 21st, 1948, whereby
<br />subdivider, Land Development Company, and not the City is responsible for installa-
<br />tion of water mains, (See Section 2) and connections. Motion seconded by Council-
<br />man Spillers, and carried.
<br />BROADWAY'No. 3 AND BROADWAY EXTENSION PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT. After considerable
<br />discussion and examination of maps, etc., Councilman Granger moved, seconded by
<br />Councilman Holmquist, City Engineer Jain was instructed to proceed with the pre-
<br />liminary work to start the proceedings, it being understood that Frost and Brian
<br />would continue with the engineering and Ernest Wilson to prepare the necessary legal
<br />procedure, it being further understood that the district contain approximately the
<br />area bounded by Jefferson Avenue to the Redwood Industrial Tract No. 1 and from
<br />Bayshore to Bay Road. Motion carried.
