Savage and Margaret I. Savage <br />Jessie M. Alford <br />BIDS ON 20 RECONDITIONED VICTORY TYPE PITTSBURG EQUITABLE WATER METERS. City Manager <br />Rolison recommended that meters be sold to Clyde Henry Enterprises at $6.50 each. <br />Councilman Swift moved approval of recommendation, seconded by Councilman Spillers, <br />and carried. <br />CITY MANAGER ROLISON SUGGESTED THAT BROADWAY No. 3 and THE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, betaken <br />up at the meeting to be held Monday, March 28th, that Mr. Wilson had prepared an <br />ordinance with changes recommended. <br />WEED ABATEMENT.' Councilman Holmquist offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded <br />by Councilman Swift, and carried on roll call. <br />RESOLUTION No. 685 <br />ORDERING STREET SUPERINTENDENT TO ABATE NUISA14CE <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 669, duly adopted by the Council of Redwood City on <br />the 7th day of February, 1949, said Council declared certain weeds growing upon all <br />the sidewalks, streets, avenues, roads, boulevards, and highways and all of the <br />lots and property in the City of Redwood City to be a nuisance and ordered their <br />abatement; and <br />WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 669 ordered a public hearing to hear any objections <br />to the removal of such weeds on March 7, 1949; and <br />WHEREAS, due notice of such hearing was given by posting notices on all the lots <br />and property in the City of Redwood City declared to have weeds thereon, constituing <br />a nuisance; and <br />WHEREAS, no objections., written or oral, were interposed at that time; and <br />WHEREAS, such hearing was continued until March 21, 1949; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE AND IT HEREBY IS RESOLVED. as follows: <br />1. That no protests, oral or written, to the removal of weeds declared to be <br />a nuisance by Resolution No. 669 of the Council of Redwood City have been received. <br />2 That the Street Superintendent be and he,hereby is directed to remove all <br />the weeds declared to be a nuisance by said Resolution No. 669 at the expense of <br />the owners of the lots or property upon which, or in front of which such nuisance <br />exists. <br />3. That the Street Superintendent is f'urther ordered and directed to, keep an <br />Itemized account of the cost of abating such nuisance upon.each separate lot or in <br />front thereof. - or both. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the Cit of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 21st day of March, 1949, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, SPILLERS, SWIFT, and Mayor <br />WERDER. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: NONE <br />_i <br />W.
