DODGE <br />Clerk of the City of Redwood City. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER ASKED THAT BUILDING INSPECTOR DUNCAN check on the on Jefferson Avenue <br />next to Maloney's property. Mr. Duncan reported that this had already been checked. <br />This was placed on the agenda. <br />COUNCILMAN SWIFT ASKED ABOUT THE REMOVAL OF TELEPHONE POLES ON JEFFERSON AVENUE. This was <br />on the agenda for the first meeting in June as they were to be removed by then, ac- <br />cording to a letter from the Pacific Gas & Electric Company. <br />OOTJNCIL14AN GRANGER BROUGHT UP THE QUESTION OF DELAY ON THE SPRINKLER SYSTEM and stated they <br />were short of money for the fence; that a short time ago City Manager Ronson had been <br />authorized to advertise for bids on the fence. After discussion with Recreation <br />Director Morton, Councilman Granger moved City Manager Rolison be authorized to call <br />for bids for the.fence in Hawes -Park, seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried. <br />COUNCILI4AN GRANGER INQUIRED ABOUT PROGRESS REPORTS FR014 DEPARTMENT HEADS, that this had <br />been done up until about two years ago. City Manager Rolison stated he would get <br />out a memorandum of reports which came to him from the departments. <br />COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI INQUIRED ABOUT A PERMIT TO DENTIST FOR OFFICE AND PARKING OF CARS. <br />City Attorney Currie stated this did not come beforethePlanning Commission. <br />Building Inspector Duncan to check into this. The office 1s to be on Broadway <br />between Clinton and Birch Streets. <br />COUNCILMAN HOLMQUIST ASKED ABOUT STREET IMPROVEMENTS FOR LENOLT TRACT. City Engineer Jain <br />stated petitions had come back today with supposedly the required number of signatures <br />and the bonding company approved this section. After the petitions are approved, he <br />recommended that this be let out for contract. Councilman Holmquist -so moved ap- <br />proving recommendation and,the City Engineer to secure outside engineering help to <br />prepare plans and specifications, seconded by Councilman Granger, and carried. <br />CLAIMS Nos- 5693 to 5765 inclusive in the amount of $15,282.77 were approved for payment <br />on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, and carried. <br />ADJOURNMENT TO APRIL 12th for the purpose of canvassing votes for special bond election <br />on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried. <br />RALPH S. M. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, H..E. Holmquist, <br />R. V. SpSllers, Mayor W. M. Werder and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also present were: <br />City Manager E. A. Rolison and Administrative Assistant Richard D. Miller. Those <br />noted absent were: Councilman Carl Britschgi, Arthur Swift, and Albert Morgan who <br />was out of the State on leave. <br />MAYOR WERDER ANNOUNCED THE PURPOSE OF THE 14EETII4G was to canvass the results of the <br />Special Municipal Bond Election held on April 5th, 1949. The check of the seventeen <br />precincts involved showed the following results. <br />
