WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />I hereby approve the foregoing Resolution this <br />8th day of September, 1948. <br />W. M. WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />MR. ARMEJO SPOKE REGARDING LOCATION OF ARMORY BUILDING, he being one of the singers of <br />the petition offered earlier in this meeting. Mr. Armejo was assured that the <br />building would be set back far enough from Valota Road to•assure a minimum park - <br />Ing difficulties and confusion. <br />CITY ATTORNEY 'REPORTED ON OWNERSHIP OF CHARTER STREET 'at the southerly limits of the <br />17 <br />City. There is apparently some confusion as to the line, and the City Engineer will <br />survey the area and report back to the Council after which the matter will be re- <br />ferred to the County Clerk for reference to the proper County authorities in an <br />effort of cleaning up the trailer situation at this point. So moved by Councilman <br />Morgan, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. Motion carried. <br />COUNCILMAN MORGAN WAS GRANTED PERMISSION to leave the State the latter part of September <br />for an indefinite period. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER EXPRESSED OPINION THAT LOYALTY CLAUSE should be included in Civil Ser- <br />vice program. He did not question loyalty of any City employee, but thought future <br />applicants should be called upon to take such an oath." On motion of Councilman <br />Granger, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, City Attorney Currie will confer with <br />League officials and officials of the City of Los Angeles regarding such a program, <br />prepare an ordinance to be submitted to the Council for consideration in the future. <br />Motion carried. <br />RECREATION BUILDING. Councilman dranger commented on condition of the building stating <br />that on more than one occasion building had been dirty and generally in poor condi- <br />tion. It was explained that the installation of new sidewalks will eliminate the <br />�i dirt and dust being carried into the building. <br />■! USED CAR ORDINANCE. Councilman Granger asked City Attorney Currie to investigate curb <br />sale of used cars and report back.. He stated further that ordinances prohibiting <br />such practices were in effect in some cities. <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE ADVISED, in response to Councilman Grangers querry that the proceed- <br />ings regarding California Square could not be completed in time for the November <br />b election. He assured the Council that everything possible waskbeing done to expe- <br />dite the matter. <br />COUNCILMAN HOLMQUIST commented on the messy condition of the lot on Main Street where <br />buildings were wrecked same time ago. Buildin Inspector Duncan was directed to <br />notify owner to clean up the lot. <br />APPRAISERS IN CONNECTION WITH PROPOSED WIDENING OF ALA14EDA AND JEFFERSON AVENUES were '�:�; <br />
