McCLURE, 1045 Jefferson, and MR. <br />HOWARD HALL appeared in the interest of the Veteran's Memorial Day Service and asked <br />the moral support of the Council. It was decided they would -select the speaker, the <br />Mayor and Council would lend -full support and write any letters to help. <br />ABATEMENT BUILDING, L. H. BILLINGS-. Mr. Harold F. Anderson appeared for Mr. Billings <br />and explained this work had been started, that he became ill, had gone to the desert <br />and was not able to go ahead with it. The following properties were listed for <br />abatement: <br />1401 E1 Camino Real - 1 story frame dwelling, office; <br />large barn used for storage of old furniture <br />etc. 2 story tank house and small shed <br />16 <br />Diller <br />Street <br />- 2 <br />story, <br />4 rooms & bath above 2 car garage <br />15 <br />Diller <br />Street <br />- 4 <br />rooms <br />& bath duplex frame structure <br />20 Diller Street - 4 rooms & bath duplex frame structure <br />Mr. Anderson stated the barn would be removed, the tank house, the buildings in <br />between, the old shacks along Robertson property line. Wiring and plumbing taken <br />care of in offices, wiring at 15 & 20 Diller Street, vents corrected at 15 Diller <br />and the foundation corrected at 20 Diller Street. He asked that this be continued <br />for 60 days. Fire Chief Lodi and Building Inspector Duncan stated it was impera- <br />tive that corrections be made as soon as possible, as this involved a definite fire <br />hazard. Councilman Morgan moved this be duly and regularly continued, carried on <br />the agenda for 30 days, seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried. <br />ACCEPTANCE OF DEEDS ATTTHORIZED, KENSINGTON SQUARE IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT for the following: <br />Ivah L. Mayor Werder announced that this was the,time that any and all <br />persons interested could appear and show cause, if any they have, why the City <br />Council should not find and determine that public convenience and necessity require <br />the improvements described and referred to in the Resolution of Preliminary Deter- <br />minination (Resolution No. 697 of the City Council) without further compliance <br />with the Special Assessment, Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act <br />of 1931 of the State of California. <br />Councilman Britschgi moved the AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION IN THE REDWOOD CITY TRIBUNE <br />OF THE NOTICE OF PROPOSED LOCAL II4PROVEr1ENT, KENSINGTON SQUARE No. 1 (1945-2) be <br />filed, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman Britschgi moved that the AFFIDAVIT OF POSTING NOTICE OF PROPOSED LOCAL <br />IMPROVEMENT, KENSINGTON SQUARE No. 1, 1945-2, by the City Clerk, Ralph S. Dodge, <br />be filed, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />City Clerk Dodge advised that no written protests had been filed. The Mayor asked <br />if anyone wished to be heard from the floor. No person desired to be heard. The <br />Council declared the hearing closed.
