If no contract is let, our fee is payable 90 days after the completion of the plans, the amount to be based on the engineer's estimate. Councilman Morgan reported that he had checked with the Fire Chief Lodi and Inspector Drivon in regard to fire protection in the City an&,they were doing a good job. Many had received communications in regard to corrections, quite a few had comylied and ,others had had 6 to 8 months notice to comply and he suggested to the Council that somethingrbe done within 60 days as the State Law provided for this protection to citizens. REPORT OF TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE AFTER STUDY OF INSTALLING ARTERIAL STOP SIGNS ALONG WHIPPLE, HOPKINS AND BREWSTER AVENUES. Committee recommended against installation of wterial stop signs at streets intersectingrwith Whipple, Hopkins and Brewster Avenues as arterials tended to increase speed and arterial streets should avoid schools, and other places where pedestrians make frequent% use of the street. Arterials in residentlil areas should be at least five blocks apart unless used as one-wqy streets . The Committee recommended "Slow-Cross'Traffieft sign be installed on Hudson Street at the intersection with Hopkins Avenue, and that a "Slow -Cross Traffic" sign should be con- sidered on Brewster - Hillview ;intersection.
