DODGE ADJOURNED the meeting to Monday, September 27th, due to lack <br />of quorum. <br />MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />September 27th, 19451 5:00 P. M. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were present: Councilmen C. A. Britschgi, Floyd D. Granger, <br />H. E. Holmquist, A. H. Morgan, Jr., A. V. Swift, and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also <br />present were: Police Chief C. L. Collins, City Manager Rolison, Assessor -Auditor <br />J. J. Brophy, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Assistant Engineer H. L. Winter, Building In- <br />spector L. M. Duncan, and City Engineer Glenn M. Jain. Councilman Spillers and <br />Mayor Werder noted absent. <br />DUE TO THE ABSENCE OF MAYOR WERDER, Councilman Morgan was selected to act as Chairman <br />for the evening. <br />MINUTES OF September 7th, and adjourned meeting of September 13th were approved as mailed <br />on motion of Councilman Holmquist, seconded by Councilman Granger with the correc- <br />tion in minutes of the 7th to show a "Nay vote°•on the part of Councilman Granger <br />in connection with the purchase of a resuscitator for the Peninsula Ambulance <br />Service. Councilman Granger explained he was in accordance with the purchase of the <br />resuscitator itself but did not approve purchase of equipment for the outside oper- <br />ator. Motion carried* <br />COMMUNICATION RECEIVED FROM THE PACIFIC COAST BUILDING OFFICIALS CONFERENCE requesting <br />the presence of Building Inspector L. M. Duncan at their Sacramento Conference to <br />be held October 12th to 15th. On motion of Councilman Britschgi seconded by'Coun- <br />cilman Swift, Mr. Duncan was requested to attend this conference. The money to <br />cover the expense would be transferred to his account at the next meeting. Motion <br />carried. <br />COMMUNICATION RECEIVED FROM COMMUNITY CHEST REQUESTING PER14ISSION TO PAINT THE WORDS, <br />°GIVE -- COMMUNITY CHEST" on the sidewalks. Permission was granted on motion of <br />Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Holmquist. Councilman Britschgi asked <br />who had given permission to the Fiesta Committee to hang the banner across Broadway. <br />Apparently this banner had been hung without any permit and the question of liabil- <br />ity was discussed. On motion of Councilman Holmquist, seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi, City Clerk Dodge was directed to send a letter to the Fiesta Committee <br />to the effect that the banner would be allowed to stay if the Fiesta Committee would <br />assure them proper insurance would hold the City exempt from liability. <br />
