<br />'DESIGNATIN JUNE 18, 1949
<br />AS "DRESS -UP DAY"
<br />WHEREAS in`the year 1939 the Redwood.City Rodeo was established as a permanent l�
<br />annual event and has since' continued yearly with the exception of war conditions -
<br />necessitating the omission of the rodeo features during a portion of the war years,
<br />from 1942 to 1945; and
<br />WHEREAS the Peninsula Celebration Association is again planning for an out-
<br />standing Fourth of July celebration, rodeo and horse show, on July 2, 3, & 4.; and
<br />WHEREAS, in the interests of publicity for this outstanding event, June 18
<br />has been selected as an appropriate day to commence the wearing of early Calif-
<br />ornia or western costumes, which costumes are to be w rn from that day through �.
<br />the last day of the celebration;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Honorable William M. Werder, as Mayor
<br />of the City of Redwood City, issue a proclamation declaring and designating
<br />June 18, 1949 as "Dress -Up Day", and calling upon all citizens of Redwood City to
<br />wear appropriate early California or western costumes; and further, to solicit the
<br />aid, support and cooperation of all of the citizens of our community to the end
<br />that this celebration may be the most successful ever.
<br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redw od City at a regular
<br />meeting thereof held on the 20th day of June, 194.9, by the following vote:
<br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution:
<br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER., HOLmgJIST, SWIFT, and Mayor WERDER.

<br />AUTHORIZING CONDEMNATION OF KENSINGTON SQUARE EASEMENTS FOR SANITARY SEWER.
<br />RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redwood City, that public interest
<br />and necessity require the acquisition by the City of Redwood City, a municipal
<br />corporation of the State of California, of an easement in, over, under and along
<br />the following described property:

<br />A parcel of land in the City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of
<br />California, described as follows:
<br />Beginning at the intersection of the Northerly line of Devon Way
<br />50.00 feet in width, with the Southwestern line of Lot 9, Block
<br />Kensington Square, thence N 24.0 35t W a distance thereon of 80.00
