PARCEL 2 229 <br />A parcel of land in the City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of <br />California, described as follows: <br />A five-foot strip of land lying contiguous to and north of the Southern <br />line and extending the full depth of Lot 18, Block lk, Kensington Square <br />all of which parcel of land is shown on that map entitled "Kensington <br />Square, San Mateo County, California", recorded in Volume 12 of Maps at <br />pages 74 and 75, Records of San Mateo County. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said property is suitable, adaptable, necessary, and <br />required for the public use of said City of Redwood City, to wit: for the construc- <br />tion of a sanitary sewer in connection with the sanitary sewer system of said City, <br />` and other public purposes. That an easement in all of the above described property <br />is necessary. <br />The City Attorney of said City of Redwood City is hereby ordered and directed to <br />commence proceedings in eminent domain against the owners of said parcels of land and <br />all interests therein or claims thereto for the condemnation thereof for the public <br />use of the City of Redwood City, as aforesaid, and to obtain immediate possession and <br />f use of said property. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meet- <br />ing thereof held on the 20th day of June, 1949, -by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRAI GER, HOL1tIQUIST, SWIFT, and Mayor WERDER. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />'ABSENT, Councilmen: MORGAN and SPILLERS. <br />W. WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redm od City <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER INQUIRED REGARDING ORDINANCE CONTROLLING REMOVAL OF OLD BUILDINGS. <br />City Attorney Currie will prepare the necessary ordinance for introduction at a <br />later meeting on motion of Councilman Graz ger, seconded by Councilman Brtischgi <br />and carried. <br />PROPOSED ORDINANCE CONTROLLING PAWN SHOPS, AUCTIONEERS, ETC. Councilman Granger reques- <br />ted City Attorney Currie to bring in a suitable ordinance for the Council's consid- <br />eration. <br />CLEAN-UP AREA AROUND RODEO GROUNDS BEFORE July 2, 3, & 4 Celebration. Chief Lodi assured <br />the Council this would be done on time. <br />PROPOSED IMPROVEA'IEIIT DISTRICT - widening Alameda de las Pulgas. On motion of Councilman <br />Graz ger, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, City Engineer Jain was authorized to <br />notify property owners regarding assistance they might be assured of on the part of <br />the City, funds to be allocated from 1944 Bond Funds. Motion carried. <br />CLAIMS Nos. 6220 to 6319 inclusive totaling $60,643.77 ordered paid on motion of Council- <br />man Swift, seconded by Councilman Holmquist.
