�_73 <br />MINUTES OF REGUTAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />July 18, 1949, 8:00 P. M. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were present: Councilmen, Carl A. Britschgi, Floyd D. Granger, <br />H. W. Holmquist, Robt. V. Spillers, A. V. Swift, and City Clerk R. D. Dodge. Also <br />present were: Police Chief C. L. Collins, Building Inspector L. M. Duncan, Assistant <br />Building Inspector Stephen Kreiss, City Attorney C. B. Curried, City Manager Rolison, <br />City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Administrative Richard D. Miller, Auditor -Assessor John J. <br />Brophy, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, City Collector P. E. Perrin, Recreation <br />Director Alfred Morton, Fire Inspector Richard Drivon, and Fire Chief J. L. Lodi. <br />Councilman Morgan and Mayor Werder noted absent. <br />CITY CLERK DODGE called the meeting to order in the absence of Mayor Werder and Councilman <br />Spillers nominated Councilman•Britschgi to act as Chairman and nominations were <br />closed. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES AS MAILED. Minutes of the regular meeting of July "5)th were approved <br />on motion of Councilman Holmquist as mailed with the correction that Councilman <br />Holmquist was present instead of entering the meeting at 8:10 P. M., seconded by <br />Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />RENEWAL OF USED CAR PERMITS. Councilman Holmquist moved that permits be granted to the <br />following used car dealers for one year, everything being in order, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Swift, and carried. <br />Bourquin's Motors <br />Bray Motor Co. <br />Brown & McDonnell <br />Anthony A. RICE was read and ordered filed. <br />TEEN-AGE CENTER BILLS presented approved by the City Auditor: <br />Kist Bottling Company $80.84 <br />Peninsula Tobacco Company 57.80 <br />$138.64 <br />Councilman Holmquist moved approval for payment, seconded by Councilman Spillers, <br />and carried. <br />REPORT SUBMITTED BY THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT ON THE HEIBERG BOWLING ALLEY, and a copy of abate- <br />ment which was sent to them, giving them fifteen days to comply with the State law. <br />Permit was granted for the establishment to open with -the understanding that vesti- <br />bules to toilets be constructed and windows screened. Councilman Granger moved that <br />the Heiberg Bowling Alley be notified of the report of the Council, that permit was <br />granted under the above conditions, and they were expected to comply, seconded by <br />4 <br />Councilman Holmquist, and carried. <br />LETTER FROM PENINSULA CELEBRATION ASSOCIATION WAS READ EXPRESSING GRATITUDE FOR COOPERATION <br />OF CITY AND ASSISTANCE OF POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS in presentation of 'Rodeo and <br />July 4th celebration, and ordered filed. <br />
