L. PARISIAN IN REGARDS TO COUNCIL'S APPEAL concerning pedestrian <br />signal lights on El Camino Real at Hazel and Willow Streets intersection stated he <br />would take the matter up with the Department of Public Works and see what their <br />objection was to placing these lights. Letter filed. it <br />BILL FROM DOUGLASS AND WOODHOUSE, CONTRACTORS WAS PRESENTED in the amount of $620.62, for <br />Johnson Street Assessment - Resolution No. 610, Series 1948-4, for paving, sidewalks, <br />etc., Lot 25, Block 2, Sub of Res. Sec. of Lot 10, tax deeded lot. Councilman <br />Spillers offered resolution and moved adoption transferring funds to pay this claim, <br />seconded by Councilman Swift and carried on roll call. City Manager Rolison recommended approval and <br />City Engineer Jain and Water Superintendent Winter both stated their approval of <br />granting an easement to install an 8" pipe off the present 10" pipe in pit on <br />Broadway Extended. Councilman Holmquist moved that the request be granted, seconded <br />by Councilman Granger and carried on roll call, Councilman Morgan and Werder noted <br />absent. <br />FRATERNAL ORDER OF EAGLES REQUESTED INSTALLATION OF FIVE STREET POLE LIGHTS AT INTERSEC- <br />TIONS AND BETWEEN CHESTNUT AND BEECH STREET ON LIGUORI STREET. Firms interested who <br />signed the request were: Delmar F. Peters, H. L. Heiberg, 0. S. Oleson, George H. f <br />Falthouri, E. H. Bean. Street lights would be of temporary nature pending the <br />installation of sewers, pavement and erection of permanent electroliers. Councilman <br />Granger moved this be referred to the Electrical Department for study and a report at <br />the next meeting, seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried. <br />
