_f <br />26 4 MISSION,"funds were not set up for this, the members Rave been contacted by Council- <br />man Granger and are, all personally satisfied with the decision,. City Attorney Currie <br />was to bring in amended ordinance and the Traffic Fact -Finding Committee was to <br />work directly with the City Manager and Council. It was considered in order for <br />the City Clerk to write to the members of the Commission so informing them. <br />On motion of Councilman Granger, City Clerk Dodge was to write a letter to John <br />Layng in appreciation of his many years given in service on the Planning Commission <br />seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER OBJECTED TO ADDITIONAL LIQUOR STORES ON EL.CAMINO REAL in the vicinity <br />of Sequoia High School, and moved that a letter be written to George Reilly, State <br />Board of Equalization, calling attention to the fact that the Redwood Inn was <br />moving from 755 El Camino Real to a location further north and requesting that <br />liquor license be denied to any other operator at this location, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Swift, and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER REFERRED TO THE PARK AREA SET UP SOME YEARS AGO ON SEQUOIA HIGH SCHOOL <br />GROUNDS and stated that 15 or 20 persons were using it on Sunday and moved that this <br />not be abandoned by the City as recommended by the Park and Recreation Commission <br />but that necessary steps be taken to put it in shape and improve it. City Manager <br />Rolison to notify the Commission to put Nicotine Field in shape, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Holmquist, and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER BROUGHT UP THE QUESTION OF ELIMINATING BUS STOP IN FRONT OF OLD <br />PENNY STORE, have one -in front of the Theatre or new Butler Store and moved that <br />this be referred to the Traffic Fact -Finding Committee, seconded by Councilman <br />Holmquist, and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN HOLMQUIST ASKED ABOUT PROGRESS OF INSTALLATION OF FIRE HYDRANTS IN FRIENDLY <br />ACRES. City Manager Rolison was authorized to contact Clyde Henry Company to <br />further the fire hydrant situation as he agreed to put in the hydrants, on motion <br />of Councilman Holmquist, seconded by Councilman Granger, and carried. City Manager <br />Rolison would be in San Francisco in a few days and offered to call on the Public <br />Utilities Commission in regards to.hydrant situation. <br />COUNCI12--AN HOLMQUIST ASIED ABOUT FIRE ALARItiI BOXES FOR REDWOOD VILLAGE. Chief Lodi <br />stated they would be installed when street lighting was put in and that they were <br />at the present time working in some of the other areas. <br />CLAIMS Nos. 6430 to 6460 inclusive and 1001 to 1051 inclusive in the amount of $65,855.73 <br />were presented for payment. $80 claim for James Carl Farrell was a reimbursement <br />which had been included in .the budget for a uniform. Councilman Swift moved that <br />bills be paid, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried-. <br />COUNCIL14AN SWIFT MOVED ADJOURNMENT, seconded by Councilman Holmquist to 8;00 P.
