EARLY JR., commenting on fine cooperation during construction of Sewage Treatment Plant <br />ordered filed. Council commented on the excellent relationship between City officials and the con- <br />tractor. Letter written into minutes. t- <br />i <br />RAY A WEYMOUTH APPOINTED TO 4 YEAR TERM, PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT. City Managers recommendation approved <br />on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Swift. Motion carried. <br />PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDED (a) That the Council request revocable permit from San Francisco <br />Mater Company for use of land for recreational purpose opposite 450 Redwood `ivenue as per Mr. John <br />Bauman's letter providing insurance and supervision can be arranged. On motion of Councilman Morgan, <br />seconded by Councilman Swift, matter referred back to the commission for clearer understanding regard- <br />ing the proposed supervision. It was understood that should the City provide supervision, the insur- <br />ance would be covered under our general liability policy. Motion carried. (b) Commission recommended <br />return of "Nicotine Field' to thgSequoia High School inasmuch as they are using part of this field and <br />would like to acquire all of it to facilitate further use of the grounds. Councilman Granger stated <br />S he had been contacted by a member of the school faculty who explained they would remove some of the <br />shrubbery and open the entire area to the public. After further discussion, it was decided that <br />Council was willing to relinquish the area with the understanding tht the area would still be avail- <br />able to the public. Councilman Holmquist moved that High School trustees be notified of Council's <br />intent in line with the above. Motion seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />HOOVER SCHOOL RECREATION BUILDING matter placed on agenda for August 15th meeting oto allow time for Com- <br />mittee to furnish information as to plans and list of materials to be donated, etc. <br />TRUCKS ON FIFTH AVENUE BETVIEEN BAYSHORE AND BAY ROAD. Traffic Fact Finding Committee had no recommendation <br />to make at this time inasmuch as the Planning Commission was to conduct a study of truck routes in <br />the near future. In an effort to bring relief to the area, Council decided to have the proper author- <br />ities contact the County to take necessary steps to have the four way stop instal]e d at 5th Avenue and <br />Bay noad. Mr.Masters again addressed the Council who was bf the opinion four-way stop would improve <br />situation. In order to speed up the action, it was decided to pass resolution at this time, same <br />to be written after contacting County officials.
