Test showed an average leakage -of 122,588 gallons per -mile 26 9 <br />per day over 2892 feet of 27—inch and 30—inch concrete sewer line. A second test of 2636 feet of <br />30—inch sewer line indicates a leakage of 101,100 gallons per -day. Tests further indicated leak— <br />age of 344,000 gallons per mile per day in the 256 feet of 27—inch sewer under Bayshore Highway <br />which would indicate a broken pipe or some other major leak in this area. After learning that <br />contractor was working on the line at the present time and was trying out a new compound which <br />might work out, it was the feeling of the Council that they should not either accept or reject <br />line at this time, until contractor made further efforts to correct the condition and further <br />tests were made. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Swift, that the matter be <br />carried on the agenda for the next regular meeting. Motion carried. <br />PERSONAL APPEARANCE OF MRS. H. MEYERS REGARDING STREET LIGHTS ON TOPAZ STREET. Chief Lodi stated he <br />hoped to get these lights installed within the next two or three weeks. <br />STREET LIGHTS, LIGUORI STREET. Chief Lodi requested that this matter be placed on the agenda for the <br />next meeting. So ordered on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Holmquist. Motion <br />carried. <br />YMCA EASEMENT. City Attorney explained nothing further had been heard from interested parties and <br />suggested dropping subject from agenda. So ordered on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by <br />Councilman Holmquist and carried. <br />PROPOSED NOISE ORDINANCE. Gener&,impression was that ordinance as submitted by City Attorney was too <br />stringent. City Attorney explained his purpose was to submit a complete ordinance, the Council to <br />eliminate such portions as they desire. Council decided to study the matter further and come to. „ <br />some conclusion as to what type of ordinance should be adopted. On motion of Councilman Morgag, <br />seconded by Councilman Holmquist, matter placed on the agenda, Council in the meantime to study <br />ordinance. Carried. <br />AWARD OF BID — AIR COMPRESSOR. Placed on agenda for August 15th meeting. <br />AWARD OF BID 12 TON HEAVY DUMP TRUCK STREET CLEANING DEPARTMENT. Fourteen bids were received and after <br />making careful comparison of various specifications, City Engineer Jain recommended acceptance of <br />Weltner Motor Compank's bid to furnish GMC truck for $62934.90 which recommendation was concurred <br />in by City Manager Rolison. Recommendation approved on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by <br />Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />AWARD OF BID — SPREADER BOX. City Engineer Jain recommended awarding bid to Edward R. Bacon Company for a <br />Jaeger AJS at 01245.27 which recommendation was concurred in by City Manager Rolison. Recommendation <br />approved on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Swift. Motion carried. <br />AWARD OF BID — MOTOR CYCLES, POLICE DEPARTMENT. Only one bid received from Howard 6verby Motor Company. <br />City Mahager recommended awarding of bid at the following prices: <br />2 — 1950 Model 61 OHV 2 wheel Harley Davidson $61034.48 <br />Less turn in 325.00 <br />Net price each including sales tax: $6 709.48 <br />1 — 1950 Model GA Three Wheeler $61185.87 <br />Less turn in 350.00 <br />Net price including sales tax $ 835.87 <br />Councilman Holmquist moved award to Overby, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. Motion carried. Bid <br />on 3 wheeler $635.87 more than amount in Equipment Replacement Fund. Possibility of price reduction, <br />otherwise transfer of funds may be necessary. <br />AWARD OF BID — 12 TON FIAT BED TRUCK, FIRE DEPARTMENT. Fire Chief Lodi recommended acceptance of bid of <br />Bob.Wondries, Studebaker, low bidder at $61463.92. City Manager Rolison concurred in recommendation. <br />Bid awarded on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Swift and carried. <br />
