<br />EAGLE HIL,L'ALLEYS IMPROVEMENTS. PURLIC HEARING ON RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT CERTAIN IMPROVE-
<br />MENTS. Mrs. Ethel Schlichting,1614 Greenwooctrive,San Carlos, submitted protest in writing as owner
<br />of Lot 6,Block 12,Eagle Hill Addition. On motion of Councilman Holmquist, seconded by Councilman
<br />Morgan, this protes:t,was'overruled and motion carried.
<br />RESOLUTION 758. EAGLE HILL ALLEYS. Councilman Holmquist offered resolution ordering work to be done and
<br />calling of bids, and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Morgan. Motion carried on roll call.

<br />RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS AND CALLING FOR BIDS EAGLE HILL ALLEYS
<br />WHEREAS the Council of the City of Redwood City did, on the 18th day of July, 1949, pass and
<br />adopt Resolution of Intention No -749 (Eagle Hill Alleys) to order the hereinafter described work to
<br />be done and improvembnts to be made in said City of Redwood City: and
<br />WHEREAS notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention No. 749, headed "NOTICE OF
<br />IMPROVEMENT", were duly and regularly posted along the line of said contemplated work and improve-
<br />ments and in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefor, and on all of the streets
<br />in the district to be assessed therefor, in the time, form, manner and number as required by law,
<br />as appears from the affidavits of Glenn M. Jain, Superintendent of Streetszof the City.9f Redwood
<br />City, on file in the office of the Clerk of said City; and
<br />WHEREAS it appears from the affidavit of Ralph S.Dodge, City Clerk of the City of Redwood
<br />City, that notices of the adoption of the said resolution were mailed to all persons owning real
<br />property proposed to be assessed for said improvements, in the time, form and manner as required by
<br />law, which affidavit is on file with the Clerk of said City of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS it appears from the affidavit of Lu Verne H.Hamlim that said Resolution of Intention was
<br />duly and regularly published in the Redwood City Tribune, a newspaper published, printed and circulated
<br />in the City of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS, in and by said Resolution of Intention No.749 and the notices of the passage thereof
<br />posted, published and mailed as aforesaid, said Council of the City of Redwood City fixed Monday,
<br />the 15th day of August, 1949, at the hour of 8:00 P.M of said day, at the Council Chamber of the
<br />Council of the City of Redwood City, in the City Ha11'on Middlefield Road in said City, as the day,
<br />hour and place when and where any and all persons having any objections to the proposdd work and
<br />improvements described in said Resolution of Intention No. 749, or to the grades at which said
<br />work and improvements are to be done and made, or to the district to be assessed for said work and
<br />improvements, could appear before said Council and show cause why said proposed work and improvements
<br />should not be carried out and done in accordance with said Resolution of Intention No; 7493 or why
<br />said work and improvements should not be carried out and done at the grades as shown on the plans,
<br />profiles and detailed drawings referred to in said Resolution of Intention No. 749 and,now on file
<br />in the office of the Clerk of the City of Redwood City;aid
<br />WHEREAS, at the day, hour and place last above mentioned, all objections, oral and wrkitten,
<br />to said work and improvements described in said Resolution of Intention No. 7% or to the extent of
<br />the district to be assessed therefor, were duly considered by said Council; and
<br />WHEREAS all said objections were overruled and denied by said Council; and
<br />WHEREAS said Council did determine that protests were not made by more than one-half (1/2) of
<br />the owners of the property proposed to be assessed for said work and improvements; and
<br />WHEREAS said Council has acquired jurisdiction to order said worl/and improvements;
<br />N01V, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the ICity Council of the City of Redwood City that the public
<br />convenience and necessity require, and sairouncil hereby orders, all the work and improvements,
<br />hereinafter described, to be performed.
<br />Said work and improvements are described as follows:
<br />(a) The improvement of all the alleys in Blocks 11, 12, 14 and 20, as said alleys are shown
<br />on the map entitled "Eagle Hill Addition.," -recorded in Volume 6, page 22, of Official Records of San
<br />Mateo County, and that alley between Block 18 as shovm on the aforementioned map and Block D as shown
<br />on that map entitled t'Vera Avenue Villas," recorded in Volume 11 at pages 3 and 4, Official Records of
<br />San Mateo County, by constructing and installing therein,for the entire length and width, a 1z inch
<br />asphaltic concrete paving with a 4 inch crusher -run rock base, except that in the center of each of
<br />said alleys a 6 -inch concrete valley gutter, 2 feet in width shall be constructed for the entire len6th
<br />of each of said alleys, except that in Block 20, said valley gutter shall be diverted to the northeast-
<br />erly corner of said alley for its last 15 feet at the northeaterlyy and of said alley.
