280 <br />(b) By resurfacing with asphaltic concrete paving as necessary, the intersections of the afore- <br />mentioned alleys with the streets fronting on said alleys, not further than the center line of <br />said streets as shown on the aforementioned maps. <br />(c) By constructing a 6 -inch concrete valley gutter lz feet wide across the ends of certain of <br />the aforementioned alleys and in line with the existing curbs on the street fronting on said alleys, <br />in the following locations: <br />(1) At both ends of that alley in Block 11; <br />(2) At the northeasterly end of that alley in Block 12; <br />(3) At the northeasterly end of that alley in Block 14; <br />(4) At the northeasterly end of that alley between Lot 18 and Block D. <br />(d) The improvement of that alley' in Block 14 hereinbefore described, by const cting therein <br />4 -inch vitrified clay sanitary sewer laterals to serve Lots 3,19 and 20, in sailock 14, and the <br />improvement of that alley between Block 18 and Block D hereinbefore described, by installing <br />therein a 4 -inch vitrified clay sanitary sewer lateral to serve Lot 7, said sewer laterals to <br />'be connected with the existing 6 -inch vitrified clay sanitary sewer now located therein. <br />(e) The construction and installation of all necessary appurtenances to the work to be done <br />under items (a) through (d) inclusive. <br />For further particulars as to the work and improvements herein ordered to be done and for a <br />description of the area proposed to be assessed for said work and improvements, reference is hereby <br />made to Resolution of Intention No -749 of said Council, passed and adopted on the 18th day of July, <br />1949. <br />FURTHER RESOLVED, that the work and improvements hereinabove described shall be done under the <br />direction of the City Engineer of said City of Redwoo0ity, and that materials used therein shall <br />comply with the specifications heretofore adopted; and that the assessments to be made in said proceedings <br />s -h -a:-11 be made and signed by said City Engineer. <br />The Clerk of the City of Redwood City is hereby ordered and directed to post a notice conspic- <br />uously for five (5) days on or near the Council Chamber door of the Council of said City of Redwood <br />City, inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the work and making the improvements ordered herein. <br />Said City Clerk is also ordered and directed to publish a notice inviting said sealed proposals or bids <br />for the period required by law in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily (except Sunday) newspaper of general <br />circulation, published, printed and circulated in the City of Redwood City, and hereby designated for <br />that purpose by the Council of said City. Said notice shall refer to the plans, profiles, detailed <br />drawings and specifications on file in tkm office of the City Clerk for a detailed description of the <br />work to be done. <br />IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that said sealed proposals or bids be publicly opened, examined and de- <br />clared by the Council of said City of Redwood City, at or about the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. on <br />Tuesday, the 6th day of September, 1949,'and all bids must be filed with the Clerk of the Council <br />of the City of Redwood City on or before such date and hour. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwoodtity at a regular meeting thereof, <br />held on the 15th day ci`August, 1949, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution; Councilmen: <br />BRITSCHGI, HOLMQUIST,i«ORGAN, SWIFT and WEEDER. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE. <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: GRANGER and SPILLERS. <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S.
