After a discussion as to whether or riot this should come under the Business License Ordinance, Councilman Holmquist moved that Mr. Steffins' letter and diagram be filed and made a part of the record and permission be granted to Mr. Steffins with the under- standing that this property was not to be used for any other purpose without ob- taining the necessary permit. COUNCILMAN GRANGER ASKED PRESENT STATUS OF Pacific Gas & Electric Poles between Broadway on Jefferson and Marshall Street. Fire Chief Lodi explained that there were 3 poles left which were carrying street light equipment but some of the work would be the responsibil- ity of the City. City Manager Rolison will check into this matter and report back at the next meeting. This will be placed*on the agenda. COUNCILMAN GRANGER REQUESTED INFORMATION REGARDING THE RECENT NEWSPAPER ARTICLE REFERRING to the use of the Addressograph Machines for private business. Assessor'Brophy explained that the incidents quoted had occurred some time ago and that the girls in the Water Department had received permission to address the envelopes referred to. He assured the Council that this could not happen again. REGARDING THE BIDS ON THE 1-1/2 ton trucks City Manager Rolison recommended that the Council consider his recommendation at the next meeting to be held on the 4th of October.
