<br />the office of the Clerk of said City; and
<br />WHEREAS it appears from the affidavit of Ralph S.Dodge, City Clerk of the City of Redwood City,
<br />that notices of the adoption'of the said resmlution were mailed to all persons owning real property
<br />proposed to be assessed for said improvements,in the time, form and manner as required by law, which
<br />affidavit is on file with the Clerk of said City of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS -it appears from the affidavit of Lu Verne H. Hamlin that said Resolution of Intention y�
<br />was duly and regularly published in the Redwood City Tribune, a newspaper published, printed and
<br />circulated in the City of Redwood City; and

<br />WHEREAS, in and by said Resolution of Intention No -743 and the notices of the passage thereof
<br />posted, published add mailed as aforesaid, said Council of the City of Redwood City fixed Mondayl;.
<br />the 15th day oftugust, 1949, at the hour of 8:00 P.M. of said day, at the Council Chamber of the
<br />Council of the City of Redwood City, in the City Hall on Middlefield Road in said City, as the
<br />day, hour and place when and where any and al }persons having any objections to the proposed work
<br />and improvements described in said Resolution of Intention No -743., or to the grades at which said
<br />work and improvements are to be done and made, or to the district to be assessed for said work and
<br />improvements, could appear before said Council and show cause why said proposed work and improvements
<br />should not be carried out and done in accordance with said Resolution of Intention No. 743, or why
<br />said work and improvements should not be carried out and done at the grades as shown on the plans,
<br />profiles and detailed drawings referred to in said Resolution of Intention No -743 and now on file
<br />in the office of the Clerk of the City of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS, at the day, hour 'and place last above mentioned, all objections, oral and written,
<br />to said work and improvements described in said Resolution of Intention No. 743, or to the extent of
<br />the district to be assessed therefor, were duly considered by said Council; and
<br />WHEREAS allssaid objections were overruled and denied by said Council; and
<br />WHEREAS said Council did determine that protests were not made by more than one-half (1/2) of
<br />the owners of the property proposed to be assessed for said work and improvements; and
<br />WHEREAS said Council has acquired jurisdiction to order said work and improvements;
<br />NOMI, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City/Council of the City of Redwood City that the public

<br />convenience and necessity require, and said Council hereby orders, all the work and improvements,
<br />hereinafter described, to be performed.
<br />Said work and improvements are described as follows:
<br />(a) By installing a 24 -inch reinforced concrete pipe storm sewer complete with manholes and all
<br />other structures appurtenant thereto, from an existing catch basin at the northeast intersection of Brew-
<br />ster Avenue with Alameda de las Pulgas; thence along Alameda de las Pulgas to the intersection of Ala-
<br />meda de las Pulgas to the intersection of Alameda de las Pulgas with Westgate; thence along Westgate
<br />to the intersection of Westgate with Hopkins Avenue at the corporate limits line of the City of Redwood
<br />City, California. By installing a 15 -inch reinforced concrete pipe storm sewer from a point at the
<br />termination of the aforementioned 24 -inch sewer, in a southeasterly direction parallel to said corpor-
<br />ate limits line, to a 5 -foot easement in Lot 36, Block 15; thence along the said corporate limits line
<br />in an easement 5-f6ot in width, contiguous to said corporate limits line in said Lot 36, Block 15, as
<br />said lot is shove on that map entitled "RESUBDIVISION OF BLOCK 15 IN OAK KNOLL MANOR, RECORDS OF SAN
<br />MATEO COUNTY," to connect with a 2 -foot by 2 -foot concrete box to be installed and an existing 15 -inch
<br />corrugated metal pipe culvert at said corporate limits line in said Lot 36, Block 15-
<br />(b) By installing catch basins'to be connected to the aforementioned 24 -inch reinforced concrete
<br />pipe storm sewer at the following locations:
<br />(1) One catch basin at the intersection of Brewster Avenue with Alameda de las Pulgas connec-
<br />ted to said 24 -inch storm sewer by an 18 -inch reinforced concrete pipe storm sewer lateral.
<br />(2) Two catch basins at the intersection of Westgate with Alameda de las Pulgas-connected to
<br />said 24 -inch storm sewer by 15 -inch reinforced concrete pipe storm sewer laterals.
<br />(3) One catch basin' at the intersection of Stanley Street with Westgate connected to said
<br />24 -inch storm sewer by a 10 -inch reinforced concrete pipe storm sewer lateral.
<br />(4) Two catch basins near the corporate limits line of Redwood City at the intersection of
<br />Westgate with Hopkins Avenue, connected to said 24 -inch storm sewer by a 15 -inch reinforced concrete
