<br />755 E1 Camino Real, formerly occupied by Redwood Inn. This location was within 200 feet of the cam-
<br />pus of the High School. The Council had taken action at a previous meeting against issuance of li-
<br />cense at the location and sent protest to Board of Equalization. Councilman Rritschgi moved that
<br />communication be filed, seconded by Councilman Swift and carried.

<br />HANNAFORD & TALBOT SUMMED COMMUNICATION OFFERING SERVICES OF TAUNICIPAL DEPARTMENT IN regard to prospec-
<br />tive revenue or assessment bond financing. The California State Legislature recently enacted legis-
<br />lation authorizing wider use of revenue bond financing, particularly in regard to the construction �!
<br />of offstreet parking facilities as well as sewage and water projects. Letter ordered filed.

<br />SEQUOIA HOSPITAL BOARD HAD REQUESTED PROCEEDINGS BE INITIATED FOR FULL STREET IMPROVEMENTS ALONG WHIPPLE
<br />AVENUE AND CORDILLERAS CREEK. City Engineer Jain reported that property owners were circulating pe-
<br />titions along this street for creation of an assessment district. It would be necessary to acquire
<br />additional right of way along this street, west side of street lies in County territory, and pre-
<br />liminary studies, design and estimates were suggested in order to determine actual location of street l
<br />and possible rights of way that would be needed, and requested that City Engineerts office be author- I
<br />ized to make the studies and that Mr. Brophy be authorized to advance funds from General Fund to cover
<br />cost,
<br />/such cost to be assessed against improvement district when it would be developed. Councilman Morgan
<br />moved approval of City Engineerts recommendation, seconded by Councilman Spillers. Councilman Gran-
<br />ger wished to amend the motion on the question stating that the City Auditor should inform the Coun-
<br />cil the amount of monieshecessary for transfer. City Engineer Jain explained that it would be diffi-
<br />cult to tell what the, cost would be, that Councils approval would be secured on each assessment job,
<br />ordinarily charge would be against Engineering Account and assessed later, but it would be impossible
<br />to transfer out -of this year Is budget for an assessment of next year. A few residents who were on
<br />the County side had voiced protest as to where the widening would be made. Motion carried•.
