H. E. Holmquist, <br />Albert H.:dorgan Jr., Robt V. Spillers, A.V.Swift, Mayor IT. M.Werder and City Clerk Ralph S.Dodge. <br />Also present were City Attorney C. B. Currie, Administrative Assistant Richard D. I'Aller, Police Chief <br />C. L.Collins,Fire Chief Lodi, Water Superintendent TI. L.Winter and Building Inspector L.11.Duncan. <br />MAYOR WERDER ANNOUNCED THE PURPOSE OF THE TEETING AS A HEAPING TO DETERMINE THE PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NEC— <br />ESSITY OF IMPROVEMENTS IN LENOLT and the--qaiving of debt limitation act. The matter of estimated cost <br />and the plans as worked up would be covered later on in the meeting. <br />AFFIDAVIT OF POSTING AND PUBLISHING OF NOTICE of proposed improvements were filed on order of '-rayor Werder. <br />CITY CLERK ADVISED THERE HAD BEEN NO WRIT'T'EN OBJECTIONS RECEIVED. <br />THERE BEING NO ORAT/OBJECTIONS AT THIS TIME, Councilmar;tapillers offered Resolution of Public Convenience and <br />Necessity, and moved adoption. Motion was seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried on roll call. <br />,? RES 0 L U T 1 0 N N0. 782 <br />RESOLUTION OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AN)?1VECESSITY <br />LENOLT <br />WHEREAS, on September 6, 1949, the City Council of the City of Redwood City adopted a Resolution <br />of Preliminary Determination to makd public improvements in the City of Redwood City,'being Resolution <br />No. 765 of said Council, to construct certain public improvements mcre particularly described therein, <br />and did fix therein this date as the time and place when and where any and all persons interested may <br />appear and show cause, if any they have, why the City Council should not find and determine that the <br />public convenience and necessity require the improvements described and referred to in said resolution <br />without compliance with the SpecialAssessment,Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act of <br />1931; and <br />WHEREAS notice of the adoption of said resolution and of said time and place of hearing was given <br />by the City Clerk by publication and posting for the time and in the manner provided in said resolution <br />and Ordinance No. 515 of theCity of Redwood City, as appears from the affidavits on file with the City <br />Clerk; and <br />WHEREAS no persons objecting to the undertaking of said proceedings witnout first complying with <br />the provisions of said Special Assessment, Investigation, Limitation, and Majority Protest Act of 1937, <br />have filed written objections thereto with the City0lerk at or before the time fixed for this hearing <br />by persons interested, owning or having an interest in real property within the proposed assessment <br />district, bearing their 'signatures, a description of their property, and a statement of the nature of <br />their interest therein; and <br />WHEREAS al*ersons have been given an opportunity to be and were fully heard and said Council has <br />duly considered any and all objections and `protests made, and the said proposed improvements and the <br />public convenienne and necessity for making the same; <br />NOVI, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by theCity Council of the City of Redwood Uity, as follows: <br />1.. That public convenience and necessity require the improvements described in said Resolution <br />No -765. <br />2. That any and all objections and protests made pursuant to said resolution he, and the same <br />are, hereby overruled and denied. <br />3.
