PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED DISAPPROVAL OF APPLICATION OF LAND DEVELOPMENT COMPANY 31 <br />to re -subdivide Lots 5, 6, 7, and 5. Block 2, Redwood Terrdee"I,'and stated that <br />all lots in this area were laid dut'as"70 feet to 74 feet widths: Councilman Granger <br />moved that recommendation of Planning Commission be approved, seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi, and carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED DISAPPROVAL OF PETITION OF Francis Cassaretto to'rezone <br />portion of Lots 7, 5, and 9, Block 1, Woodside acres from R-2'to R-4 and 0-1, and <br />the petition of John McCarthy to rezone a portion of Lot 7, Block A. Woodside Acres <br />from R-2 to C-1. Both properties are located at Hudson and Woodside Road. Mayor <br />'Werder was of the opinion that Woodside Road should be properly zoned as Commercial. <br />It was brought out that the decision of a joint meeting of the City and County Plan- <br />ning Commission was opposed to such reaoning. Councilman Britschgi moved approval <br />1. <br />of recommendation, seconded by Councilman Swift. Motion carried, Mayor Werder voting <br />Nay. City Attorney Currie advised a public hearing had to be held. After discussion <br />it was thought that the matter -should be placed on the'agenda, City Attorney Currie <br />to report on this. Councilman Britschgi withdrew his motion and Councilman Swift <br />his second to the motion. The Councilmen unanimously withdrew their votes. <br />i PLANNING COMMISSION RE0014MENDED ADOPTION OF OFFICIAL PLAN LINES AT THE INTERSECTION OF. <br />WHIPPLE AVENUE AND EL CAMINO REAL as indicated on the map titled "Official Plan <br />Lines of Whipple Avenue and El Camino Real Intersection Being Part of the Street and <br />Highway Plan of the Master Plan'of the City of Redwood City, State of California". <br />City Engineer Jain stated the map was drawn in error and suggested, if possible, <br />that this be held over until the map was corrected.' Councilman Granger moved that <br />this be carried on the agenda, seconded by Councilman Spillers. Mayor Werder asked <br />asked City Manager Rolison when the meeting was scheduled with the State Officials <br />and Colonel Skeggs regarding Traffic signals at this intersection and asked that the <br />Council members be notified of this meeting. Motion carried. <br />PENINSULA AMBULANCE SERVICE REPORTED A LIST OF 16 calls received from the Police Depart- <br />ment during the month of August, as requested by the Council. Report ordered filed. <br />PERSONNEL BOARD SET UP A POSITION CLASSIFICATION FOR °FIELD CLERK" in accordance with a• <br />request of the Council, and was submitted by Richard D. Miller, Secretary. It was <br />recommended that the Salary Ordinance be amended to include this position in Range <br />4 No.17: - 244, 255, 273, 255, 305. Councilman Spillers' moved that recommendation be <br />i <br />accepted and offered introduction of ordinance to amend Salary Ordinance, seconded <br />by Councilman Britschgi, and carried. <br />CITY ENGINEER JAIN REPORTED PETITIONS RECEIVED TO DATE for improvements in Lenolt Tract <br />amounted to 53.75%. Additional names were given circulators of petitions on Sept - <br />0 <br />ember 29, 1945 in order to bring total up to a minimum of 60o and it was suggested <br />to Mr. Allen Rollins, who was circulating the petitions that attention should be <br />i <br />!j given to a wider spread on all of the streets in order to obtain a more uniform <br />expression of opinion iri that area. <br />P. C. KIRK, COMDR., POST No.2310, Veterans of Foreign Wars, requested permission to place <br />a plaque in front of the flagpole which was located in front of the flagpole which <br />was located in front of the'City Hall, to honor every resident of Redwood City at <br />the time of entering the armed forces in World War II, who lost their lives in said <br />war. Councilman Spillers moved that the request be granted, Park Department to be <br />contacted and subject to the supervision of the Park Department in placement of the <br />H <br />
