324"' <br />1. <br />WHEREAS said Superintendent of Streets has submitted to the Council of Redwood Oity for ebonfirmation <br />an itemized report, which report shows the cost of removing such weeds from or in front of each <br />separate parcel of land from which said weeds were removed; and <br />WHEREAS, as appears from the affidavit of said Superintendent of Streets on file herein, a copy <br />of said report was posted at or near the Council Chamber door of the City of Redwood City, together with <br />a notice of the time said report would be confirmed by said Council, for more than three (3) days prior <br />to October 3, 1949; <br />; s <br />NOW THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED as follows: <br />v <br />1. That the itemized report of the Superintendent of 'Streets to thVCouncil of Redwoopity, show- <br />ing the cost of removing weeds on each separate lot or in front thereof in the City of Redwood dity, <br />is hereby confirmed and the cost of removing said weeds from or in front of each separate lot shall <br />constitute a lien on said lots. <br />j <br />2. That a copy of said report shall be delivered to the Tax Collector of the City of Redwood City, <br />who shall add the amounts of the assessments to the next regular bill for taxes assessed ggainst said <br />lots. <br />Passed and adyted by the Council of thity of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof, held <br />i <br />on the 3rd day'of etchers 1949s by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution, Councilmen: BRITSCHGI., <br />GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MM GAN, SPILLERS, SWIFT and WERDER. <br />S <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE. <br />w� a <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: NONE. <br />1 i k <br />i i <br />IT. M.• WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />RESOLUTION 790 RECOGNIZING NATIONAL PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED WEEK was offered and moved for adoption by <br />Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Holmquist andcarried on roll call. i ] <br />RESOLUTION N0. 790 <br />RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING NATIONATAHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED WEEK <br />WHEREAS, the President of the United States has proclaimed October 2nd to 8th as "National Employ <br />the Physically Handicapped Week"; and <br />i <br />WHEREAS,. the Governor of the State of California has appointed the San Mateo County Committee.. i h <br />composed of representatives of the State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, the California Em- <br />ployment Service, thoeterans Service Office, and industry, to assist in securing the placement of <br />physically handicapped persons; and <br />WHEREAS, experience has demonstrated that when properly placed, the relative efficiency and <br />stability of the physically impaired was greater than the unimpaired; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redwood City, requests the <br />full cooperation of employers in this City, with the San Mateo County Committee in the placement <br />of handicapped persons wherever it is possible to utilize their services. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof, <br />held on the 3rd day of October, 1949, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution, Councilmen: BRITS- �I } <br />CHGI, GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, SPILLERS, SWIFT and WERDER.- <br />NOES., <br />ERDER.
