<br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE MADE A STUDY OF REQUEST BY OLD MILL FLOWER SHOP FOR A ONE-HOUR PARKING LIMIT
<br />IN FRONT OF THEIR PIA CE OF BUSINESS and recommended installation of such from flower shop to Broadway
<br />on northeastern side of El Canino Real. Question of enforcement camp up, however it was desired to
<br />eliminate all day commuter parking and spot runs could be made on this strip. Partial opinion was
<br />that it was not right to take all the space to Broadway where it was not needed and that previously
<br />the Council had turned down a similar request. Councilman Morgan moved this be referred again,to the
<br />Traf£ic,Fact Finding Committee with Council comments, seconded by Councilman Swift and carried.
<br />EXTENSION OF FRANKLIN STREET THROUGH BUTCHER FIELD TO JAMES AVENUE. Councilman Morgan stated the committee
<br />had gone as far as it could go without money and there was no money to condemn this property in order
<br />to proceed and Southern Pacific Company would not give the property to the City.
<br />CITY ATTORNEY STATED THERE WAS A NEWAECTION TO THE VEHICLE CODE, EFFECTIVE October 1, 1949 in regard to
<br />parking signs along a highway requiring written approval from the Division of Highways. He would
<br />check on it and report.
<br />CITY ENGINEER JAIN WAS TO CHECK ON SIGN IN FRONT OF OLD MISSION CARPET HOUSE: Councilman Granger thought
<br />it was a 'To Parking" sign. It.should be for "One Hour"*
<br />COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI WONDERED WHY 3 INTERSECTIONS ON BROADWAY HAD A "NO U TURN'" and none at the 4th. Re-
<br />ferred to the Traffic Fact Finding Committee,
<br />CITY CLERK WAS AUTHORIZED TO ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING 8 DEEDS on motion of Councilman Holmquist, seconded by
<br />Councilman Morgan and carried. They were for Ranzulo, Hart,Caton, OtKernal, succi, Brumfield &

<br />Hanson, Plath, Grant, Plath ready to be signed, and the others were in the Title Company,

<br />WHEREAS; on the 5th day of July, 1949, the City Council of the City of Redwood City adopted
<br />a Resolution of Preliminary Determination to make public improvementVin the City of Redwood City,

<br />being Resolution No. 728 of said Council, to construct certain public improvements more particularly
<br />described therein, and did fix therein July 18, 1949 as the time and place when and where any and
<br />i
<br />all persons interested may appear and show cause, if any they have, why the City/ ouncil should not
<br />find and determine that the public convenience and necessity require the improvements described and
<br />{
<br />referred to in said resolution without compliance with the Special Assessment, Investigation, Limits -
<br />tion and Majority Protest Act of 1931; and

<br />WHEREAS notice of the adoption of said resolution and of said time and place of kering was given
<br />by the City Clerk by publication and posting for the time and in the manner provided in said resolution

<br />and Ordinance No. 515 of the City of Redwood City, as appears from the affidavits on file with the
