R E S O L U T I O N N 0. 8o4 <br />347 <br />71IfEREA5, the juvenile delinquency problem is one of major proportions in all sections of the <br />United States; and <br />'i <br />I'MEREAS, we, the City Council of the City of Redwood City are fully cognizant of the -heed for <br />a continuing program for the purpose of curbing and,eliminating juvenile delinquency and substituting <br />therefore an abiding sense of responsibility and good citizenship on the part of our growing youth; <br />and <br />NHEREAS, the Optimist Club of theCity of Redwood City has worked long and faithfully in the <br />community interest for the purposes of youth rehabilitation and in full acceptance of its responsib- <br />ility, both to the community of today and the nation of a generation hence; and, <br />0EMEAS, we, thgtouncil of the City of Redwood City recoghize a debt of gratitude on the part of <br />l the people of the City of Redwood City to the Optimist Club of our Community: <br />141E THEREFORE RESOLVE, that there shall be written into the*records of the dity of redwood City <br />this 7th day of November, 1949, this resolution expressing our sincere thanks to the Optimist Club of <br />Redwood City and our best wishes for their continued successful work as a "Friend To The Boy". <br />Done this 7th day of November, 1949- <br />FLOYD D GRANGER <br />Acting Mayor of thgtity of Redwood City <br />RESOLUTION, INSTALIA TION OF CHECK SIGNING MACHINE, was offered by Councilman 'Spillers, seconded by Council- <br />man <br />ouncilman -Holmquist and carried on roll call, Councilman Granger voting"No". Mayor Vverder noted absent. <br />RES 0LUTI0N N0. 805 <br />AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION AND USE OF CHECK SIGNATURE MACHINE <br />RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the installation of a check signature <br />machine to impose facsimile signatures of the proper City officials upon cheoks or warrants issued by <br />the City of RedwoodCity be, and the same is, hereby authorized. <br />FURTHER RESOLVED that any and all checks or warrants issued by the City of Redwood City may have <br />' the signatures of the proper City officials imposed thereon by means of said machine and any and all <br />banks are hereby authorized to honor any such checks or warrants so issued. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwoo0ity at a'regular meeting thereof, held <br />1 <br />on the 7th day of November, 1949, by the following vote: <br />AYES, And in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution,Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, <br />IOLMQUIST, MCRGAN3 SPILLERS and SWIFT. <br />NOES, Councilmen: GRANGER <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: WERDER. <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S DODGE <br />Clerk of theCity of Redwooltity. <br />FLOYD D GRANGER <br />Acting Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />I hereby approve the foregoing resolution this <br />8th day of November, 19119• <br />FLOYD D GRANGER <br />Acting Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />PACIIIC GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY REQUESTED OVERHEAD LINES ACROSS CITY PROPERTY INTO THE PG&E SUBSTATION ON <br />HARBOR BOULEVARD. City Engineer Jain recommended that easement be granted and that City Attorney be <br />requested to check and approve attached easement. Councilman Britschgi moved that PG&E be notified <br />that this would be carried on the agenda pending removal of pit in sidewalk on Jefferson, Annie Offer - <br />mann property, seconded by Cou>3cilman Yorgan and carried. <br />
