L <br />I <br />RESOLUTION No. 812 <br />URGING ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR EXTENSION OF BAYSHORE FREEWAY <br />365 <br />WHEREAS the continued increase in growth of population and automobile traffic <br />in San Mateo County has aggravated an already grave traffic hazard on Bayshore Highway <br />in San Mateo County; and <br />WHEREAS the California State Highway Commission has stated that funds are not <br />available for the extension of Bayshore Highway Freeway in order to alleviate said <br />grave traffic hazard; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Redwood City hereby resolves as <br />follows: <br />1. That Senator Harry A. Parkman and Assemblyman Richard J. Dolwig are hereby <br />requested and urged to do everything within their power to secure emergency funds for <br />extension of Bayshore Freeway in San Mateo County, and that adequate provision be made <br />in future budgets for the continued improvement and extension of said Bayshore Freeway. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meet- <br />ing thereof, held on the 5th day of December, 1949, by .the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution, <br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, IdORGAN$ SPILLERS, SWIFT, and Mayor WERDER. <br />NOES, <br />ABSENT, <br />ATTEST: <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />RALPH S. WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />RESOLUTION No. 813 EXPRESSING NEED FOR GRADE SEPARATION STRUCTURES. The Council wished <br />to go on record favoring and urging study of grade crossing separation problem on <br />the San Francisco Peninsula and that specific legislation be adopted by Legislature <br />of the State defining responsibility ofr and allocating the expense of construction <br />of needed grade crossing separation structures. Councilman Granger offered resolu- <br />tion and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. <br />RESOLUTION No. 813 <br />EXPRESSING NEED FOR GRADE SEPARATION STRUCTURES <br />WHEREAS the lack of grade crossing separation structures on Bayshore Highway, <br />E1 Camino Real and.at Southern Pacific Railroad crossings, on the San Francisco <br />Peninsula, has created a great traffic hazard on the streets and highways on said <br />peninsula, thereby causing a terrific yearly death and accident toll,; and <br />WHEREAS construction of such needed grade separation facilities is impeded by <br />a lack of specific legislation defining responsibility for and allocating the expense <br />of the construction of such grade crossing separation facilities; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City,'as <br />follows: That the Council go on record as favoring and urging that a study be made <br />of the grade crossing separation problem on the San Franesico Peninsula, and that <br />specific legislation, based onthe results of such study, be adopted by the Legis-' <br />lature of the State of California, defining responsibility for and allocating the <br />expense of construction of needed grade crossing separation structures on the San <br />Francisco Peninsula. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof, held on the 5th day of December, 1949, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution, <br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, SPILLERS, SWIFT, and M1a7or'WERDER. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: NONE <br />W.M.WERDER,Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />ATTEST: RALPH S.
