3 to connect�,-,°into City line, seconded by Councilman Bri-tschgi and carried. <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE GAVE EACH COUNCILI4IAN A COPY OF THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE REGULATING THE <br />CONSTRUCTIOAI, RECONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR OF WALKWAYS, DRIVEWAYS, CURBS AND PARKING <br />STRIPS ON THE PUBLIC STREETS, ALLEYS AND WAYS IN THE CITY, and repealing Section 6, of <br />Article I or Ordinance No. 333 and repealing Ordinance 402, and asked them to study <br />ordinance. <br />COUNCILMAN MORGAN ASKED ABOUT OLD DEPOSITS IN THE WATER DEPARTMENT BEING TRANSFERRED FROM <br />SUSPENSE TO THE GENERAL FUND. Auditor Brophy explained this had been done according <br />to Mr. Uhlenberg's suggestion on the year old accounts. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER STATED THAT FOLLO'IJING DR. O'NEILL'S RESIGNATION SOME STATEMENTS WERE <br />CIRCULATED that Administrative Assistant Miller received $50 for every meeting at <br />the Personnel Board and that he received $15 for proctoring for each examination. <br />The Auditor was called upon by City Manager Rolison to explain the breakdown of <br />salary and he stated that a portion of the salary was charged to the City Manager; <br />City Clerk and Personnel. City Manager Rolison also explained that by proctoring on <br />Saturdays the City was saved money as some oft he Saturdays he worked he was entitled <br />to time off. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER ASKED ABOUT PROGRESS ON LAUREL STREET PROJECT. City Engineer Jain re- <br />ported that plans were completed and ready for legal proceedings to start. Council- <br />man Granger moved this. be placed on the agenda for next meetin, seconded by Council- <br />man Morgan and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN, GRANGER REPORTED THAT THERE WAS A PORTION OF SIDMVALK ON JATMS STREET WHICH WAS <br />UNDER WATER AT THE TIME OF RAIN and pedestrians had to walk in the street. This was <br />from the bridge toward the depot, City Engineer Jain had been over there and ex- <br />plained that the original improvement had been installed by the Southern Pacific <br />Company from bridge northerly and the street was a private street. There were 2 <br />or 3 similar cases in the City. City Engineer Jain agreed to put in some black top. <br />COUNCILMAN HOLMQUIST SAID HE l'lAS APPOINTED ON A COMITTEE, REAL ESTATE, to work on easement <br />on creek toward Main Street between Redwood Cab and Union Market and was asked to get <br />an agreement with Mr. Carlo Ferrando who owns property. Mr. Ferrando was going to <br />contact his lawyer and he in turn would get in touch with our City Attorney and <br />arrange some agreement. City Attorney to make a report at that time. Easement given <br />would provide an 18" walkway, building was to be erected on another piece of property <br />in the very near future and they were willing to give 10" providing the other pnople <br />would give an 8 ft. easement. <br />COUNCILMAN HOLMQUIST THOUGHT SOME REDROCK SHOULD BE PUT ON STAMBAUGH STREET as this pro- <br />ject never went through and the children had to walk in the mud when it rained. <br />Some of them had fallen in the mud, including his own children, and had been sent <br />home for clean clothing. This would provide temporary walk during the winter. City <br />Engineer Jain stated they had received a call from the school to put some redrock <br />in front of the school.. This had been done on Willow; cars parked on it and the <br />children had to continue walking in the mud. Sewer petitions had been circulated <br />since. To be taken care of by the Engineering Department. <br />CLAIMS Nos. 1943 to 2052 inclusive in the amount of 043,998.25 were approved for payment <br />on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Swift and carried. <br />Adjournment 10 P.
