<br />RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
<br />LAUREL STREET
<br />RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Redwood City that the public conven-
<br />ience and necessity require, and that it intends to order in accordance with'the pro-
<br />cedure set out in Article I of Ordinance No. 333 of said City, adopted March 4, 1932,
<br />as amended, the following work to be done and improvements to be made in and for said.
<br />City, to wit:
<br />The improvement of Laurel Street by constructing and installing therein
<br />two inch (21t) asphaltic concrete paving with six inch (6") crusher rock run"
<br />base thirty-one feet (311) in width, concrete curbs and gutters on both sides,
<br />thereof, and concrete sidewalks on both sides thereof from the intersection
<br />of Laurel Street with Middlefield Road to the intersection of Laurel Street
<br />with Stambaugh Street; the removal of existing concrete curbs; gutters, trees'
<br />and sidewalks as necessary to do the aforementioned work; the installation of
<br />two (2) reinforced concrete catch basins on Laurel Street near the southerly
<br />intersection of Laurel Street with Stambaugh Street and the installation"of
<br />one (1) reinforced concret catch basin on Laurel Street near the northerly
<br />intersection of Stambaugh and Laurel Streets, all.said catch basin connected
<br />by eighteen inch (1811) reinforced concrete pipe storm water siphone; the
<br />installation of redwood headers at the intersection of Laurel and Stambaugh
<br />Streets; the construction of concrete driveway approaches to serve existing
<br />buildings and residences on Laurel Street between Stambaugh Street and Mid-
<br />dlefield Road; the removal and re -construction of existing four inch (4")
<br />sanitary sewer laterals serving lots fronting on Laurel.Street between
<br />'Middlefield Road and Stambaugh Street as necessary to bring said laterals to'
<br />proper grade; the construction and installation 'of all other necessary-appur
<br />tenances to complete the work hereinbefore described.
<br />All of said work and improvements are to be constructed at the places, in the
<br />manner, of the sizes, of the material, and to the lines, grades and elevations as
<br />shown on the plans, profiles and specifications made therefor,.and on file in the.
<br />office of the City Engineer of the City 'of Redwood City, and the same are made a part
<br />hereof by reference thereto.
<br />Whenever any public way is referred to as running between two public ways, or from
<br />or to any public way, the intersections of the public ways referred to are included to,
<br />the extent that work shall be done therein pursuant to the plans and specifications
<br />hereinbefore referred to.
<br />Said Council does hereby adopt and establish as the official grades for said work
<br />the grades as shown on the plans, profiles and specifications made therefor and herein-
<br />before referred to.
<br />The total estimated cost of said improvements as determined by the City Engineer
<br />of Redwood City, California, is the sum of 8,920.00.
<br />Said contemplated work and improvements, in the opinion of said City Council, is
<br />of more than local or ordinary public benefit and said Council does hereby mare the
<br />cost and expenses of doing such work and improvements chargeable upon a district,
<br />which district said Council declares to be the district benefited by said work and
<br />improvements and to be assessed to pay the entire cost and expense thereof and which -
<br />said district is wholly within the limits of said City of Redwood City, State of
<br />California, and is described as follows: I
<br />Said district to include the Westerly one-half (1/2) of Block 15 and the
<br />Easterly one-half (1/2) of Block 19 as said blocks are delineated on that ma P,
<br />.entitled "THE EASTERN ADDITION OF REDWOOD CITY, San Mateo County, California ,
<br />recorded November 3, 1862, in Vol. 2 of Miscellaneous Records at page 85, San
<br />Mateo County records, the bearings of which are the basis of this description,
<br />and which area is more particularly described as follows:
<br />BEGINNING at the intersection of the center line of Block 15 of' said*
<br />Addition extended to and with the center line of Middlefield Road (formerly
<br />known as Phelps Street) 60.00 feet in width; thence N 610 401 W, 253.79 feet
<br />along the center line of Middlefield Road; thence along the center line of
<br />Block 19 of said addition extended to the center lines of Middlefield Road
<br />and Stambaugh Street, both 60 feet in width., N 280 20' E,. 360.00 feet to the
<br />center line of Stambaugh Street; thence S 610 401 E, 253.80 feet along said
<br />center liner of Stambaugh Street; thence along the center line of Block 15
<br />of said addition extended to the center lines of Stambaugh Street and Mid-
<br />dlefield Road, both 60.00 feet in width, S 280 20' W, 360.00 feet to the
<br />point of beginning.
<br />There is excepted from said district all streets and other public property used in 'the
<br />performance of a public function.
<br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, and said Council of said City does determine, that serial
<br />bonds to represent the unpaid assessments of $25.00 or over, bearing interest at the
<br />rate of six per cent (6f) per annum will be issued pursuant to Article I of Ordinance
<br />No. 333 of said City, entitled "Redwood City Improvement Procedure Ordinance", adopted
<br />March 14, 1932, as amended, the last installment of which bonds shall mature fourteen
<br />(14) years from the 2nd day of January next succeeding the 75th day of'the next
<br />November following their date.
