He then moved that the City Engineer find costs and approach the County Eng- <br />ineering Department in effort to have them share the responsibility, 'and motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. Mr. Herman was to be notified of the <br />outcome. <br />ADOPTION OF OFFICIAL PLAN LINES FOR A FUTURE STREET ALONG THE PULGAS LINE BETVIEEN.WHIPPLE <br />AVENUE AIM THE SAN CARLOS CITY LIMITS was recommended by the Planning Commission. Cozen <br />cilman Spillers moved that the time be set for public hearing, seconded by.Councilman <br />Morgan, and carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOh'MENDED DENIAL NORMAN Mac DONALS. to resubdivide a portion.of Lot 9, <br />Block A, Vera Avenue Villas (corner Vera and Adamns) because of insufficient area for <br />the three lots requested. Councilman Morgan moved approval of Planning Commission <br />recommendation to deny application, seconded by Councilman Holmquist,'and carried. <br />PLANNING COM1.4ISSIO1i RECOMMENiDED APPROVAL OF F. W. FABIAN TO RESUBDIVIDE Lot 5, Block 13 <br />New High School Acres. Councilman Britschgi recommended approval of recommendation, <br />seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried. <br />PLANNING COIv`MISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF NICOLL AND COMPANY TO RESUBDIVIDE Lots 6, 7, 8, <br />and 9, of IV. V'. & M. Subdivision into three lots. Councilman Britschgi moved approval <br />of recommendation, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. 10 <br />PLANNING C0Rt1+IISSION RECOIuMENDED APPROVAL OF PETITION OF RICHARD DELUCCHI TO REZONE Lots 11, <br />12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and a portion of 172 Block 5, Tract 559 from R-2 to C-l-H,subject <br />to the condition that a non -access planting strip be dedicated for a planting screen <br />along Florence Avenue. Surrounding property owners, seemed to be in accord with the <br />rezoning. <br />M. J. KING, INC., submitted a protest, signed by B. I. Lusk, stating they, had no knowledge <br />of the pending reclassification and requested that the application be_re-referred to <br />the Planning Commission so that they might have an opportunity to be heard and present <br />evidence. They had completed 200 homes in this immediate vicinity and objected to the <br />change from residential to commercial zoning. Councilman Granger moved that the <br />application be re-referred to the Planning Commission along with.the communication of <br />M. J. King Inc., seconded by Councilman Morgan. Mr. Frank Ingersol appeared for Mr. <br />Delucchi stating that about a year ago the first application was made to the Planning <br />Commission and it was denied at that time. Two or three months ago the Improvement <br />Club asked that lar. Delucchi try again. Notices of the hearing were sent to,all within <br />a radius of 500 feet. He claimed that Mr. King owned property in the County, not in <br />the City. The Council did not question Mr._Ingersol's information, however, the motion <br />carried. <br />ENGINEERING FEES - SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT. City Attorney Currie submitted an opinion.on <br />this in which the District Attorney also concurred. Contract *ith Frost & Brian,pro- <br />vided a base amount each for 20 foot piles, which was the estimated length, and .a unit <br />price per foot for additional lengths over and above said 20 feet. The actual length <br />of the piles driven was 60 feet and the contractor was being paid in accordance there-' <br />with, resulting in a cost of 044,880 in excess of the estimate. It was their opinion <br />that the engineer could properly claim 4%. of this additional money, or $1795.20. <br />Councilman Granger moved that this amount be paid to Frost to Brian on recommendation of <br />
