394 j
of the CiVf Attorney, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and.carried.
REPORT OF YACHT HARBOR COMMITTEE, Ccuncilman Granger. Mr. Granger reported that several
meetings had been held. They anticipated no difficulty with Leslie Salt Company who
owned property on the opposite side of the creek from the City property in the event
the Yacht Harbor was moved, In regard to property under the jurisdiction of the Port
he moved that the City Attorney take necessary steps so that if it became necessary
to place the proposition on the ballot such steps would have been taken within the
necessary time limit, and the motion was seconded by Councilman Spillers. Council-
man Granger made it clear that he anticipated that the Port would cooperate with the
project. Motion carried. I+Iayor Werder thanked Councilman Granger for his usual
efficient report.
CR= COMMITTEE REPORT, COUNCILMAN HOLMQUIST. Mr. Holmquist submitted several pages from
the engineer on the creek control. This did not include the flood gate project which
was separate and for which money had already been allocated. The report was given to
City Clerk Dddge with the comment that the project should come before the people for
them to make a decision on this. Councilman Morgan moved that this be studied at the
a
adjourned meeting at which time an amount should be determined necessary to submit to
the voters in the April election, seconded by Councilman Swift. Motion carried.
COUNCILMAN MORGAN I, chairman of the Council Committee, asked, for permission to use the Coun-
cil Chambers in behalf of the Emerald Lake Water Committee subject to availability of
same. Administrative Assistant Dick Miller was to notify him of the time when the
Council Chambers would be available and notify members of the Council Committee of the
date..
COUNCILMAN HOLMQUIST MOVED THAT THE CITY IeIANAGER ADVERTISE FOR BIDS ON LEASE OF PIECE OF
PROPERTY TO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried.
DRAINAGE OF CERQUI PROPERTY, 506 Woodside Road, City Engineer Jain went out to investigate
this condition, was not able to locate the correct property, but stated this area did
not drain from Hudson but from Woodside Road and the only one that could do anything
about this was the State Highway. They might be prevailed upon to grade the gutter
some but he did not think there was enough rain to justify more than this. Continued
on agenda Mr. Jain to contact Mr. Cerqui in the meantime.
REQUEST FOR SEWER CONI+tECTION, EATON AVENUE, PROPOSED SCHOOL, CLIFFORD AVENUE. City Engineer
Jain stated they had promised the hospital connection into the line and a subdivision
in the County (Scenic Heights) was also making application which should be denied.
This was -an 8" line and they would have considerable trouble with the line below if
these requests were granted. Mr. Spinas, Superintendent of Elementary School District
was aware of the difficulty but Mr. Jain thought the Board did not see it that way.
Mr. Granger asked what would happen if they petitioned for annexation, but Mr. Jain
did not approve of sewer connection. From a practical standpoint he recommended that
the request be denied as there was a line belonging to San Francisco and San Carlos
available which had capacity and an effort should be made to connect through that
rather than the smaller one of the City. Councilman Morgan moved that the City
Engineer's recommendation be accepted, seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried.
LAUREL STREET IMPROVEMENTS. Affidavit of publication on Resolution of Intention was ordered
filed by Mayor Werder.
LAUREL STREET
IMPROVEMENTS. Public hearing
was announced and there were
no protests.
RESOLUTION No.
823 FIXING MINIMU&i WAGE SCALE
STREET IMPROVEMENTS, LAUREL
STREET was offered
I
IJ
