Affidavit of publication ordered filed by Mayor Werder <br />s <br />s PUBLIC HEARING ON ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING LOADING ZONES. There were no protests. <br />ORDINANCE Ido. 635 establishing loading zones on Broadway and repealing section on double <br />i <br />parking. Councilman Morgan moved adoption of ordinance, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers and carried on roll call. Councilman Britschgi voting NO. <br />AWARD 05' BIDS ADDITION TO FIRE STATION No. 2. The following proposals were offered. <br />Julian N. Basin, Menlo Park 4151620.00 s <br />Cattich Bros. & Stevenson, Redwood City 53687.00 <br />Perry -Robertson, Palo Alto 69130.00 <br />This project was to be financed out of 19W bond money and was approved by the City <br />f Council at the time the 1949-50 budget was adopted. City Manager Rolison recommended <br />low bid of Julian N. Basin be accepted subject to signing of contract as prepared by <br />City Attorney Currie. Councilman Spillers moved that low bid be accepted of Julian <br />N. Basin and City Manager Rolison be authorized to enter into contract, second ed by <br />-, Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />AWARD OF BIDS, REPLACEMENT OF TWO POLICE SEDANS. Low bid on replacement of 1948 Chevrolet <br />submitted by Minto Motor Company for a V-8 1950 Ford Sedan at net of 1,825.93 less <br />4$1,189 trade in, net cost to'City of 0636.93. Low Bid on replacement of 1946 Plymouth <br />deluxe sedan at net of 4$1,801.23 less 4$1,000 trade in, net cost to City of $801.23. <br />City Manager Rolison recommended low bids be accepted, both price and type of car were <br />considered. Councilman Morgan moved that low bids be accepted, seconded by Councilman <br />Swift and carried. <br />ABATEMENT 537 Hamilton Street and 503 Bradford Street, J. J. Bullock Estate. City Attorney <br />Currie stated the eviction notice had been served but authorities of the Rent Control <br />Board,, OPA, interferred and asked that the tenants be given more time and Mr. Currie <br />suggested that it be carried over for two more meetings. Councilman Morgan moved <br />that this:be duly -,.and regularly continued to the first meeting in March (6th), <br />seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />WEED ABATEMENT. Affidavit of publication was ordered filed by the Mayor. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON WEED ABATEMENT. There were, no protests. <br />RESOLUTION No. 825, WEED ABATEMENT was offered and moved for adoption by Councilman Spillers <br />ordering the superintendent of streets to abate weeds as a nuisance, seconded by <br />Councilman Holmquist. Councilman Britschgi thought people should be notified in the <br />newspaper besides posting their property as many of them were not aware the property had <br />been posted. City Engineer Jain stated there was not much time; work should be started; <br />we were three months behind San Mateo and two months behind Palo Alto. An attempt was' <br />being made to keep the cost down. It was planned to spray the parkways which would <br />have to be done before the grass was 6" high and disc the balance of the lots. <br />n <br />
