Motion carried, Councilmen Spillers and Werder voting No. <br />PAVING OF ALAAiEDA DE LAS PULGAS TO VIHIPPLE was brought up by Councilman Granger. Petitions <br />had been circulated. A majority could not be secured from Blandford north according <br />to City Manager Rolison. City Engineer Jain stated that 1�5o so far had signed the <br />petition. County Engineer Capt. Grant had informed Mr. Jain that this had gone to <br />the Planning Commission. Fourteen feet was needed on the west side. City Engineer <br />Jain and City Attorney Currie was to report further at the next meeting. <br />DISASTER RELIEF PROGRAI.I. Councilman Granger stated a training program Was to be started <br />registrations made and the Fire and Police Departments were to make contacts to find <br />out the nature of the program and report back to the Commander. Bids were to be <br />called for on wiring in the fire station. Fire Chief Lodi added that bids were <br />coming in on Friday the 10th. City Manager was to check into the program and work <br />with the departments. <br />REMOVAL OF TWO POLES BY PACIFIC CTAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY, 700 Block El Camino Real. Coun- <br />cilman Spillers thought these poles should be removed from the East side of El <br />Camino. When the signals were to be installed conduits would be laid and the poles <br />would no longer be needed. At present both the City and P.F. & E. were using the <br />poles. Subject of electroliers was discussed and Councilman Granger suggested that <br />petitions be prepared to be circulated among property owners on west side of El <br />Camino Real. <br />CHARGEABLE FEES ON SHUFFLE BOARDS AND CIGARETTE VENDING MACHINES. City Collector asked <br />for a decision on this. Councilman Britschgi reported that several meetings had <br />been held and they recommended that license fee on Shuffle Boards be reduced from <br />072 to 012.00 per year. Councilman Morgan moved approval of recommendation, <br />seconded by Councilman Swift and carried. City Attorney Currie was to bring in <br />amendment to ordinance. The Committee recommended no tax on the Cigarette vending <br />machines.
