The returns of said election shall be made out and signed by the election officers and shall be by them deposited with the City Clerk together with the ballots cast at said election, and this Council shall meet at its usual meeting place and canvass said returns on Monday, the 17th day of April, 1950 (being the first Monday after said election) at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P. M. and declare the results of said election and install the newly elected officers. 9. The City Clerk shall give, in the time, form and manner required by the Char- ter of the City of Redwood City and by law, all notices of the election herein called and measures to be submitted. 10. Compensation of each election officer to be appointed is hereby fixed at Twelve Dollars ($12.00) for services to be rendered in connection with said, election. WERDER Mayor of the City of Redwood City RESOLUTION No. 833, COVERING MEASURE FOR APRIL BALLOT, REDWOOD CREEK CHANNEL IMPROVEMENTS AND STORM DRAINAGE FACILITIES, WITH REFERENCE TO 1950 IMPROVEMENT BONDS. Councilman Holmquist offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. City Attorney Currie stated the bond attorneys in San Francisco fee would be 01760 if the election carried and $750 if it failed. RESOLUTION No. 833 RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY DEMAND THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION BY THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF THE FOLLOWING MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT: REDWOOD CREEK CHANNEL IMPROVEMENTS AND STORM DRAINAGE FACILITIES: AND THAT THE COST OF SAID MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT WILL REQUIRE AN EXPENDITURE GREATER THAN THE AMOUNT ALLOWED THEREFOR BY THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY. RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City as follows: Section 1. That the public interest and necessity demand the acquisition, con- struction and completion by the City of Redwood City of the following municipal im- provement, to wit: Redwood Creek Channel Improvements and Storm Drainage Facilities. Improvement of the main and tributary channels of Redwood City, including; closed conduits and storm drain collection system and pumping plant between Bayshore Highway and E1 Camino Real; improvement of tributary channels upstream from E1 Camino Real, includ- ing removal of channel obstructions, widening and deepening of channels and replace- ment of existing inadequate culverts and bridges; embankments, retaining walls, bulkheads, culverts, pipe lines, pipes, pumps, machinery, apparatus, equipment, catch - basins, manholes, grading, fills, relocation of channels, restoration of street cross- ings, lands; easements, rights-of-way; and other works, property or structures neces- sary or convenient for channel improvements of Redwood Creek and storm drainage facilities in said City of Redwood City. Section 2. That the acquisition, construction and completion of said municipal improvement are necessary and convenient to carry out the objects, purposes and powers of said City. Section 3. That the cost of the acquisition, construction and completion of said municipal improvement is and will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue of said City and that said municipal improvement will require an expenditure greater than the amount allowed therefor by the annual tax levy and will require the incurring of a bonded .indebtedness therefor.
