The returns of said election shall be made out and signed by the election <br />officers and shall be by them deposited with the City Clerk together with the ballots <br />cast at said election, and this Council shall meet at its usual meeting place and <br />canvass said returns on Monday, the 17th day of April, 1950 (being the first Monday <br />after said election) at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P. M. and declare the results of said <br />election and install the newly elected officers. <br />9. The City Clerk shall give, in the time, form and manner required by the Char- <br />ter of the City of Redwood City and by law, all notices of the election herein called <br />and measures to be submitted. <br />10. Councilman <br />Holmquist offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and <br />carried on roll call. City Attorney Currie stated the bond attorneys in San Francisco <br />fee would be 01760 if the election carried and $750 if it failed. <br />RESOLUTION No. 833 <br />RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY DEMAND THE <br />ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION BY THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF <br />THE FOLLOWING MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT: REDWOOD CREEK CHANNEL <br />IMPROVEMENTS AND STORM DRAINAGE FACILITIES: AND THAT THE COST OF SAID <br />MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT WILL REQUIRE AN EXPENDITURE GREATER THAN THE <br />AMOUNT ALLOWED THEREFOR BY THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY. <br />RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City as follows: <br />Section 1. That the public interest and necessity demand the acquisition, con- <br />struction and completion by the City of Redwood City of the following municipal im- <br />provement, to wit: <br />Redwood Creek Channel Improvements and Storm Drainage Facilities. Improvement <br />of the main and tributary channels of Redwood City, including; closed conduits and <br />storm drain collection system and pumping plant between Bayshore Highway and E1 <br />Camino Real; improvement of tributary channels upstream from E1 Camino Real, includ- <br />ing removal of channel obstructions, widening and deepening of channels and replace- <br />ment of existing inadequate culverts and bridges; embankments, retaining walls, <br />bulkheads, culverts, pipe lines, pipes, pumps, machinery, apparatus, equipment, catch - <br />basins, manholes, grading, fills, relocation of channels, restoration of street cross- <br />ings, lands; easements, rights-of-way; and other works, property or structures neces- <br />sary or convenient for channel improvements of Redwood Creek and storm drainage <br />facilities in said City of Redwood City. <br />Section 2. That the acquisition, construction and completion of said municipal <br />improvement are necessary and convenient to carry out the objects, purposes and <br />powers of said City. <br />Section 3. That the cost of the acquisition, construction and completion of said <br />municipal improvement is and will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual <br />income and revenue of said City and that said municipal improvement will require an <br />expenditure greater than the amount allowed therefor by the annual tax levy and will <br />require the incurring of a bonded .indebtedness therefor. <br />
