<br />ABATEMENT "OF 537 Hamilton and 503 Bradford Streets, J. J. Bullock Estate. Attorney
<br />Wagstaff appeared and stated several notices had been served on the tenants and Mr.
<br />Cortez had appealed to the Housing Authority and he had appeared before them and
<br />understood they would have to await about 4 months for certification from them.
<br />City Attorney suggested the County cooperation be secured to help remove the tenants.
<br />Fire Inspector Drivon stated that there was a definite life hazard here and they
<br />should not be permitted to remain for that period of time. Councilman Britschgi

<br />moved that City Attorney Currie take any necessary steps to hasten eviction, and
<br />?
<br />that this be duly and regularly continued, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried.

<br />and publication were ordered filed by Mayor Warder.
<br />PUBLIC HEARING. There were no protests.
<br />RESOLUTION No. 840 OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY TO CONSTRUCT SIDEWALKS, Alameda
<br />de las Pulgas and Hopkins Avenue was offered and moved for adoption, by Councilman
<br />Spillers, seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried on roll call.

<br />RESOLUTION OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY
<br />ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS AND HOPKINS AVENUE
<br />WHEREAS, on February 6, 1950, the City Coun6il'of the'City of Redwood City
<br />adopted a Resolution of Preliminary Determination to make public improvements in
<br />the City of Redwood City, being Resolution No. 827 of said Council, to construct
<br />certain public improvements more particularly described therein, and did fix therein
<br />this date as the time and place when and where any and all persons interested may
<br />appear and show cause, if any they have, why the City Council should not find and
<br />determine that the public convenience and necessity require the improvements
<br />described and referred to in said resolution without compliance with the Special
<br />Assessment, Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931; and
<br />WHEREAS notice of the adoption of said resolution and of said time and place
<br />of hearing was given by the City Clerk by publication and posting for the time and
<br />in the manner provided in said resolution and Ordinance No. 515 of the City of
<br />Redwood City, as appears from the affidavits on file with the City Clerk; and
<br />WHEREAS no persons objecting to the undertaking of said proceedings without
<br />first complying with the provisions of said Special Assessment, Investigation,
<br />Limitation, and Majority Protest Act of 1931 have filed written objections thereto
<br />with the City Clerk at or before the time fixed for this hearing by persons inter-
<br />ested, owning or having an interest in real property within the proposed assess-
<br />ment district, bearing their signatures, a description of their property, and a
<br />statement of the nature of their interest therein; and
<br />WHEREAS all persons have been given an opportunity to be and were -fully heard;
<br />and said Council has duly considered any and all objections and protests made, and
<br />the said proposed improvements and the public convenience and necessity for making
<br />the same;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
<br />Redwood City, as follows:
<br />1. That public convenience and necessity require the improvements described
<br />in said Resolution No. 827.
<br />2. That any and all objections and protests made pursuant to said resolution
<br />be, and the same are, hereby overruled and denied. 1 iii��■■
<br />3. That the improvements described in said resolution be made under and
<br />pursuant to the provisions of Article I of the Redwood City Improvement Procedure
<br />Ordinance (Ordinance No. 333, adopted March 14, 1932, as amended), and that the
<br />Special Assessment, Investigation, Limitation, and Majority Protest Act of 1931
<br />shall not apply to said proceedings.
<br />Passed and adopted by the Countil of the City of Redwood City at a regular
<br />meeting thereof, held on the 6th day of March, 1950, by the following vote:
<br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution:
