<br />(b) The improvement of the northerly side of Hopkins Avenue by constructing and
<br />installing thereon four inch (4') concrete sidewalks, five feet (5') in width,
<br />including concrete driveway approaches to serve existing houses and residences
<br />from the intersection of Hopkins Avenue with Alameda de las Pulgas to the
<br />intdrsection'of Hopkins Avenue with Circle Road; provided, however, that no
<br />sidewalks or driveway approaches shall be installed where existing sidewalks
<br />and driveways meet the established line and grade.
<br />(c) The construction and installation of all necessary appurtenances to complete
<br />the work described under (a) and (b) hereof.
<br />All of said work and improvements are to be constructed at the places, in the
<br />manner, of the sizes, of the materials, and to the lines, grades and elevations as
<br />shown on the plans, profiles and specifications made therefor, and on file in the !
<br />office of the City Engineer oft he City of Redwood City, and the same are made a
<br />part hereof by reference thereto.
<br />Whenever any public way is referred to as running between two public ways, or
<br />from or to any public way, the intersections of the public ways referred to are
<br />included to the extent that work shall be done therein pursuant to the plans and
<br />specifications hereinbefore referred to.
<br />Said Council does hereby adopt and establish as the official grades for said j
<br />work the grades as shown on the plans, profiles and specifications made therefor
<br />and hereinbefore referred to.
<br />The total estimated cost of said improvements as determined by the City En-
<br />gineer of Redwood City, California, is the sum of 03033-410-

<br />Said contemplated work and improvements, in the opinion of said City Councils
<br />is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and said Council does.hereby make
<br />expenses of doing such work and improvements chargeable upon a district,
<br />the cost and exp g p
<br />which district said Council declares to be the district benefited by said work and
<br />improvements and to be assessed to pay the entire cost and expense. thereof and
<br />which said district is wholly within the limits of said City of Redwood City, State
<br />of California, and is described as follows:
<br />Said district being a portion of Oak Knoll Manor, San Mateo County,
<br />California, recorded May 10, 1916 in Vol. 10 at pages 4 to 11, inclusive,
<br />records of San Mateo County, the bearings of which are the basis of this
<br />description. Said area comprises Lots Ei to 11, inclusive, of Block 7,
<br />and Lot 1 to 5, inclusive, and Lot 8 of Block 122 all being more particu-
<br />larly described as follows:

<br />.BEGINNING at the intersection of the center line of Whipple Avenue,
<br />66.00 feet in width, with the Northeasterly line of Lot 8 extended North-
<br />westerly to said center line; THENCE S 410 10' E along the rear of Lot 8
<br />and portion of 9, 240.33 feet; THENCE S 290 10' E along the rear of Lots �
<br />9,. 10, and 11, 307.68 feet to the Southeasterly corner of Lot 11; THENCE
<br />S 400 01' 30" W along the Southeasterly line of Lot 11, and extension of
<br />same, 185.00 feet, more or less, to the center of Alameda de las Pulgas,
<br />50.00 feet in width; THENCE with said center line along a curve to the
<br />right with a radius of 1146.01 feet, 130.00 feet, more or less, to the
<br />intersection with the center line of Hopkins Avenue, 50.00 feet in width;
<br />THENCE S 820 05' W along the said center line of Hopkins Avenue 254.00 III
<br />feet to a point of curve; THENCE continuing along said center line on a
<br />curve to the left with a radius of 573.48 feet, 93.35 feet to a point of
<br />reverse curve; THENCE with said center line and reverse curve to the
<br />right with a radius of 50.00 feet, 111.62 feet to point of reverse curve
<br />to the left and center of Circle Road, 50 feet in width; THENCE with
<br />said center line and reverse curve to the left with a radius of 358.39
<br />feet, 115.18 feet to a point opposite the Northerly line of Lot 8, Block
<br />12, and 25.00 feet therefrom; THENCE S 880 31' E along said line 181.05
<br />feet to the Easterly line of Lot 12 of said block; THENCE N 190 55' W MI
<br />along the rear of Lots 2 and 3 of said block, 191.34 feet to the South-
<br />westerly corner of Lot 4 of said block; THENCE N 320 25' W along the
<br />rear of Lot 4 of said block 109.92 feet to the Southwesterly corner of
<br />Lot 5 of said block; THENCE N 380 40' W along the rear of Lot 5, of said
<br />block, 110.58 feet to the Northwesterly line of said lot, being also the
<br />Corporate line of Redwood City; THENCE N 450 05' E along said Corporate
<br />line 95.00 feet, more or less, to the Southwesterly line of Alameda de
<br />las Pulgas extended; THENCE along said line N 440 55' W 33.00 feet to
<br />the center of Whipple Avenue, extended, 66.00 feet in width; THENCE N
<br />450 05' E along said center; 195.00 feet, more or less, to the point of ,I
<br />beginning.
<br />There is excepted from said district all streets and other public property used
<br />in the performance of a public function. tt
<br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, and said Council of said City does determine, that
<br />serial bonds to represent the unpaid assessments of $25.00 or over, bearing in-
<br />terest at the rate of five per cent (5%) per annum will be issued pursuant to
<br />Article I of Ordinance No. 333 of said City, entitled "Redwood City Improvement _
<br />Procedure Ordinance", adopted March 14, 1932, as amended, the last installment
<br />of which bonds shall mature five (5) years from the 2nd day of January next
<br />succeeding the 15th day of the next November following their date.
<br />Reference is hereby made to the resolution of said Council determining to
<br />make said improvements without compliance with the Special Assessment, Investi-
<br />gation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931, being Resolution No. 840
<br />on file -in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
