56 reference-,}is hereby made to Resolution of IntentionsNo: 842 of said Council, passed <br />and adopted on; <br />FURTHER RESOLVED, that the work and improvements hereinabove described shall be <br />done under the direction of the City Engineer of said City of Redwood City, and that <br />materials used therein shall comply with the specifications heretofore adopted; and <br />that the assessments to be made in said proceedings shall be made and signed by said <br />City Engineer. <br />The Clerk of the City of Redwood City is hereby ordered and directed to post a <br />notice conspicuously for five (5) days on or near the Council Chamber door of the <br />Council of said City of Redwood City, inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing <br />the work and making the improvements ordered herein. Said City Clerk is also <br />ordered and directed to publish a notice inviting said sealed proposals or bids for <br />the period required by law in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily (except Sunday) <br />newspaper of general circulation, published, printed and circulated in the City of <br />Redwood City, and hereby designated for that purpose by the Council of said City. <br />Said notice shall refer to the plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifica- <br />tions on file in the office of the City Clerk for a detailed description of the <br />work to be done. <br />IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that said sealed proposals or bids be publicly opened, <br />examined and declared by the Council of said City of Redwood City, at or about the <br />hour of 8:00 o'clock P. City Engineer Jain submitted a <br />report on this after a meeting.on March 20th with County Engineer M. A. Grant on <br />Whipple Avenue extension adjacent to Sequoia Hospital and Alameda between Whipple <br />Avenue and Edgewood Road with recommendations of 6 items for approval of the City <br />Council and County Board of Supervisors. <br />LE TIER. <br />March 31, 1950 <br />A meeting was held March 30th with Mr. M. A. Grant, County Engineer, regarding <br />development of assessment districts covering proposed improvements on Whipple Ave. <br />extension adjacent to the Sequoia Hospital and Alameda de las Pulgas improvements <br />between Whipple Avenue and Edgewood Road. An agreement was reached that the follow- <br />ing points be recommended to the City Council and the County Board of Supervisors: <br />1. A joint improvement district be formed for each of the above projects, the <br />City to prepare the plans and specifications based upon the recommended pavement <br />width of 56 feet and right-of-way width of 76 feet on Whipple Avenue and 80 feet on <br />Alameda de las Pulgas as recommended in my letter presented to the City Council, <br />March 20th; the Sequoia Hospital District to be requested to dedicate a strip of <br />land 32 feet in width for widening of Whipple Avenue extension and a strip of land <br />14 feet in width for the widening of Alameda de las Pulgas along their property. <br />2. The County to dedicate the entire width of Whipple Avenue extension to <br />the City, and the City to assume maintenance thereof after improvements are <br />constructed. <br />3. The County to acquire the 14 -foot widening strip along the westerly side <br />of Alameda de las Pulgas. <br />4. The City to construct full street improvements along Alameda de las <br />Pulgas between Whipple Avenue and Edgewood Road; and to construct full street im- <br />provements along Whipple Avenue west of Alameda de las Pulgas with the exception <br />of a 22 -foot center strip which will be left as a red rocked parking area. <br />5• The center 22 feet of paving along Alameda de las Pulgas to be constructed <br />m <br />u <br />
