<br />" it intends to order, the following work to be done and improvements to be made in 461
<br />and for said City, to wit:
<br />(a) The improvement of Poplar Avenue by constructing and installing therein 2"
<br />asphaltic concrete paving with 6" crusher run rock base 31' in width, standard con-
<br />crete curbs, gutters and 5' width concrete sidewalks on both sides thereof, for its
<br />entire length from its intersection with the westerly line of that tract of land in
<br />Redwood City known as Portola Addition to its intersection with Junipero Avenue.°
<br />(b) The improvement of Virginia Avenue the same as for Poplar Avenue in (a)
<br />above from its intersection with Poplar Avenue to its intersection with Redwood Avenue.
<br />(c) The improvement of Junipero Avenue the same as for Poplar Avenue in (a)
<br />above from its intersection with Poplar Avenue to its intersection with Redwood Avenue,
<br />provided however that the complete intersection of Junipero Avenue and Redwood Avenue
<br />shall be improved with asphaltic concrete paving and concrete curbs, gutters and stan-
<br />dard concrete sidewalks shall be constructed at the northerly corners of said inter-
<br />section.
<br />(d) The construction and installation of two (2),15" reinforced concrete pipe
<br />siphons across Virginia Avenue at its intersection with Poplar Avenue connected with
<br />a standard concrete catch basin to be constructed at each end of said siphons; the
<br />construction and installation of a 15" reinforced concrete pipe storm drain across
<br />the intersection of Poplar and Junipero Avenues connected with a standard concrete
<br />catch basin to be constructed at each end of said storm drain; the construction and
<br />installation of a 15" reinforced concrete pipe storm.drain connected with the afore-
<br />mentioned catch basin to be constructed on the Easterly side of Junipero Avenue at
<br />its intersection with Poplar Avenue, extending approximately 82' in an easterly direc-
<br />tion from said catch basin in a 5' easement along and contiguous to the northerly
<br />line of Lot 16 Block 3 Portola Addition connected to a 15" corrugated metal pipe
<br />approximately 20' in length to be installed in said easement.
<br />(e) The construction of a 15" reinforced concrete pipe siphon across Junipero
<br />Avenue at Redwood Avenue connected with a standard concrete catch basin to be con-
<br />structed at either end thereof.
<br />(f) The construction and installation of all necessary appurtenances to complete
<br />the work described in (a) to (d), inclusive.
<br />All of said work and improvements are to be constructed at the places and in the
<br />manner, and to the lines, grades and elevations, as shown upon the plans, profiles
<br />and specifications made therefor and on file in the office of the City Engineer of
<br />Redwood City.
<br />Said contemplated work and improvement, in the opinion of said City Council, is
<br />of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and said Council does hereby make the
<br />cost and expenses of doing such work and improvement chargeable upon a District,
<br />which District said City Council declares to be the District benefited by said work
<br />and improvement and to be assessed to pay the entire cost and expenses thereof, and
<br />which said Assessment District is wholly within the limits of said City of Redwood
<br />City, State of California, and is described as follows:
<br />Said district includes all of Portola Addition, a Subdivision in Redwood
<br />City, San Mateo County, California, recorded September 21, 1909 in Vol. 7 of
<br />Maps, at page 7, San Mateo County Records; a portion of Blocks 9 and 10 of
<br />West Redwood, a subdivision in Redwood City, San Mateo County, California,
<br />recorded October 8, 1908, in Vol. 6 of Maps, at page 4.3, San Mateo County
<br />Records; a portion of Lot 45 of Reese Subdivision in Redwood City, San Mateo
<br />County, California, recorded March 22, 1905 in Vol. 3 of Maps, at page 56,
<br />San Iti'iateo County Records, the bearings of which are the basis of this
<br />description, and is mor particularly described as followsc
<br />BEGINNING at the Southeast corner of Lot 16, Block 3 of Portola
<br />Addition; thence S 41+0 25' W along the Southeasterly line 1028.88
<br />feet to the Southwesterly corner of Lot 52, Block 3 of said Portola
<br />Addition; THENCE N 45030'W along the Southwesterly line -of said
<br />Portola Addition, 261.06 feet to the Northwest corner of Lot 12, Block
<br />1 of said Addition; THENCE N 440 25' E along the rear of Lots 12 to
<br />17 inclusive of said block 150.00 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot
<br />5 of said block; THENCE N 4.50 30' W along the Southwest line of Lot 5
<br />of said block, extended, 130.00 feet to the center of Redwood Avenue,
<br />60 feet in width; THENCE N 440 25' E along said center line 21.2.77 feet
<br />to an angle point in same; THENCE continuing along said center line N
<br />260 27' E, 226.4.5 feet to a point opposite the center of Lot 20, 25.00
<br />feet wide, Block 9 of West Redwood; THENCE N 4.50 30' W along the center
<br />of said lot and rear of lot fronting on Junipero Avenue 251.07 feet to
<br />a point in line 3.965 feet Northwesterly from the Northwest corner of
<br />Lot 13 of said block; THENCE parallel to and 3.965 feet from the North
<br />west line of Lot 13 of said block, N 44.0 30' E, 154..1}25 feet to the
<br />center of Junipero Avenue, 60.00 feet in width; THENCE N 4.50 30' W
<br />along said center line of Junipero Avenue 8.82 feet to a point opposite
<br />a line parallel to and 5.535 feet Northwesterly from the Northwest line
<br />of Lot 23 Block 10 or West Redwood; THENCE N 440 30' E along aforesaid
<br />line 123.85 feet to the rear of Lot 21F of said block; THENCE S 4.50 30'
<br />E along the rear 5.535 feet of Lot 24. and all of Lot 23, 25.00 feet in
<br />width, and along a line midway through Lot 18, 25.00 feet in width,
<br />all of Block 10, West Redwood, across Redwood Avenue, 60.00 feet in
<br />width, and across a portion of Lot 4.5 of Reese Subdivision for a dis-
<br />tance of 100.00 feet, parallel to and 18.84 feet from the Northeast
<br />line of Lot 1, Block 3, Portola Addition, making in all a distance of
<br />300.00 feet more or less; THENCE S0 25' W along a line 18.84. feet
<br />to the said Northeast line of said dition; THENCE S 4.50 30' E along
<br />the Northeast line of said Addition 417.04 feet to the point of
<br />beginning.
