O
Britschgi stated there were a few instances In which methods apparently did not con - 47
form to what the auditors considered good bookkeeping. City Manager Rolison stated he
had discussed the report with a member of the Uhlenberg's firm and had tentatively
reached an agreement on certain recommendations. He stated further that most of the
changes had been made and that the balance would be complied with in the near future.
Motion carried.
PLANNING COMMISSION SUBMITTED TENTATIVE MAP ON SET BACK LINES OF WHIPPLE AND EL CAMINO REAL.
City Attorney Currie stated approval was in order at this time, ways and means to be
considered later, that action taken now by the Council would prevent any building per-
mits being granted. Councilman Granger moved approval, seconded by Councilman Swift,
City Attorney.Currie further explained that Council's approval at this time would give
sincere indication that property would be condemned in the future and added that the
property would be worth just as much when the City would buy it for the street.
Motion carried.
CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE REPORTED ON PETITIONS TO REZONE PROPERTY ON WOODSIDE AND HUDSON STREET.
This was referred to the Council by th Planning Commission on recommendation against
official application for rezoning. Two notices were published and two public hearings
were called. The City and County Planning Commissions agreed that this was not the
time to extend commercial area. The opinion of the Council was that few would wish
to build homes on Woodside Road, that it would be better to be zoned for business.
Councilman Spillers moved that City Attorney Currie be instructed to call a public
hearing, seconded,by Councilman Morgan, and carried.
REGARDING DA14CING PERMITS AT THE LINCOLN SCHOOL. Following Mr. Gregory's protest at the
last Council meeting, the Council requested that minutes be searched for their de-
cision on this problem several years previous. City Clerk Rolison read excerpts from
the minutes of December 7th, 1942 in which it was found that the dances were held
contrary to the intent of the ordinance. A motion failed to carry granting permit.
Another excerpt from the minutes of December 21„ 1942 revealed that another request
for dancing permit on this date failed to secure granting of permit by the Council.
Councilman Britschgi moved that the matter be dropped and channelled, through the
School Board, but dropped from the`ggenda, seconded by Councilman Spillers. Motion
carried.
FINAL PUBLIC HEARING ON VALOTA ROAD SEWERS was announced by Mayor Werder. One protest
was read from Mrs. Marguerite Coats. City Engineer Jain explained that firs. Coats
lived on a corner lot that was assessed about 1941 for sewer on Woodside Road. This
time the property was assessed on Valota as Mr. Jain was of the opinion that Mrs.
Coats was entitled. to some relief and recommended that her assessment be cut approx-
imately $100. Mr. Currie asked that the matter be duly and regularly continued until
the next meeting so as to include the change suggested by Mr. Jain. Councilman
Morgan moved that the hearing be duly and regularly continued until the next meeting,
seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried.
CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE REPORTED ON CURB SALES OF USED CARS.
