L <br />I <br />fl <br />recommendation of City Engineer Jain be accepted, seconded by Councilman Holmquist 4 8 5 <br />but rescinded the motion after further discussion. He then moved that Mr. Gerfen, <br />Administrator for .the Hospital, circulate a petition in.order to get signatures of <br />60% of front footage which would necessitate getting about loo to 150 of the residents <br />on the south side of the street. The County Board of Supervisors would pass a resol- <br />ution authorizing the work to be done and City Engineer Jain could.proceed with the <br />work making this a joint project of City and County. Motion was seconded by Council- <br />man Holmquist and carried. <br />RESOLUTION No. 862. SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS - ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS (WHIPPLE TO HOPKINS). <br />City Engineer Jain recommended the low bid of C. 0. Bodenhamer in the amount of <br />$3105.70 be accepted which was concurred in by City Manager Rolison, and that City <br />Attorney Currie be authorized to prepare an agreement to cover the award of contract, <br />subject to necessary bonds, etc. Councilman Holmquist offered resolution and moved <br />adoption, seconded by Councilman Werder arld carried on roll call <br />RESOLUTION No. 862. <br />RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT <br />ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS AND HOPKINS AVENUE <br />WHEREAS the Council of the City of Redwood City did, in open session, on <br />April 17, 1950, publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed proposals or bids for <br />doing all the work and making all the improvements described in Resolution of Inten- <br />tion No. 842 of said Council, passed and adopted by said Council on March 6, 19500 to <br />which resolution reference is hereby made for further particulars; <br />BE IT RESOLVED that said Council of the City of Redwood City hereby rejects all <br />said proposals or bids except that next herein mentioned, and hereby awards the con- <br />tract for doing said work and making said improvements to the lowest, regular, re- <br />sponsible bidder, to wit: C. 0. Bodenhamer, at the prices named in his bid, to which <br />bid reference is hereby made for further particulars. <br />The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a notice of this award in•the <br />Redwood City Tribune, a daily newspaper (except Sunday), published, printed and cir- <br />culated in said City of Redwood City, and hereby designated for that purpose by the <br />Council of said City. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof, held on the 1st day of May, 1950, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution, <br />Councilmen: GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, ROYER, SPILLERS, WERDER, and Mayor BRITSCHGI. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: NONE <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S. BRITSCHGI <br />ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAFFIC IN AND AROUND THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC DEPOT. .Mayor Britschgi <br />ordered affidavit of publication filed. <br />ORDINANCE No. 641 REGULATING TRAFFIC IN AND AROUND THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC DEPOT was moved <br />for adoption by Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on <br />roll call. <br />FURTHER CONSIDERATION ON CHICKEN ORDINANCE. Councilman Granger moved this be carried on <br />agenda, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />REQUEST FOR RESPONSE TO FIRE CALLS OUTSIDE CITY. City Attorney Currie stated he had <br />written to the insurance carrier in regard to the City!s liability and coverage <br />
