Councilman <br />Granger moved that in the event of a reply that there was no liability on the part <br />of the City that vie assist the HOSPITAL and City Fire Department would respond to <br />fire calls providing present insurance rate would cover this, seconded by Council- <br />man Holmquist. PROGRESS LUMBER COMPANY had contacted Councilman Werder and Mr. <br />Shipkey stated he had no word from the Council as to the outcome of their request. <br />; <br />City Clerk Dodge explained that they had appealed through the Chamber of Commerce <br />in their request and according to the Council's instructions a letter had been <br />written to the Chamber of Commerce that City Attorney Currie was checking on this. <br />However, on Friday April 26th, excerpts from three Council meetings pertaining to <br />,I <br />this subject and a copy of our letter to the Chamber of Commerce had been forwarded <br />to the Progress Lumber Company. Fire Underwriters for the Progress Lumber Company <br />would be there on Wednesday, May 7th and they hoped to have an answer by then. <br />Mr. Shipkey, or representative for them was welcome to come in the City Clerk's <br />office in the event they had not received the Clerk's letter and a copy of same <br />would be shown them. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 863. - APPROVING WATER RATES FOR EMERALD LAKE DISTRICT AND FRINGE AREA <br />was offered and moved for adoption, by Councilman Holmquist and seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Royer and carried on roll call. <br />R E S O L U T I O N No. 863 <br />APPROVING REVISION OF WATER RATES FOR TERRITORY OUTSIDE REDWOOD CITY <br />LIMITS. <br />WHEREAS the Water Department of,Redwood City has submitted to the Council of <br />Redwood City certain changes in the Rules and Regulations for Redwood City Water <br />Department, approved December 15, 1947; and ; <br />WHEREAS the Council desires to approve said recommended changes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Council of Redwood City, as <br />follows: <br />1. That the changes hereinafter set out, made in the Rules and Regulations <br />for Redwood City Water Department, approved December 15, 190, effective January <br />12 1948, be and the same are hereby approved. <br />2. That Paragraphs (2) and (3) of Section 3, under the heading of rates in <br />said Rules and Regulations, are hereby changed to read as follows: <br />(2) The rates to be charged and collected for water supplied by the <br />Redwood City Water Department to consumers OUTSIDE the limits of the City <br />of Redwood City, where no pumping or other extra expense is required to <br />provide such service, are hereby fixed as follows: <br />For water delivered, based on monthly meter readings: <br />(a) For the first 3,300 cubic feet . 4OX per 100 <br />(b) For the next 30,000 35¢ per 100 <br />(c) For all above 33,300 " " 30¢ per 100 j <br />Provided, however, that the minimum amount for each month to be charged <br />and collected for service through a water meter shall be as follows: <br />(a) <br />For <br />5/8 inch meter . <br />$2.25 <br />(b) <br />For <br />3/}. inch meter . <br />2.80 <br />(c) <br />For <br />1 inch meter <br />3.75 <br />(d) <br />For <br />1-1/2 inch meter <br />6.20 <br />(e) <br />For <br />2 inch meter . . <br />10.00 <br />(f) <br />For <br />inch meter . . <br />19.00 <br />(g) <br />For <br />inch meter . . <br />i <br />30.00 <br />(h) <br />For <br />inch meter . . <br />57.00 <br />(3) EMERALD LAKE DISTRICT.
