Councilman Morgan offered resolution and moved adoption, <br />seconded by Councilman Britschgi. City Manager Rolison stated that this year each <br />particular piece.of equipment was anticipated and included in the budget. Mr. Currie <br />explained that in addition to the resolution monies in equipment replacement fund <br />could not be spent for equipment without the Councilks action. Motion carried on <br />roll call. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF TENTATIVE MAP OF SILVER MANOR, subject to <br />eight conditions. Councilman Morgan moved approval of tentative map subject to con- <br />ditions recommended, .seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF THE TENTATIVE I4AP OF REDWOOD INDUSTRIAL TRACT <br />No. 2, subject to eight conditions. Councilman Morgan moved approval of tentative <br />map subject to conditions recommended, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried, <br />WATER SERVICE TO SEQUOIA UNION HOSPITAL. City Engineer Jain stated the hospital would be <br />willing to buy the 10" pipe, City to furnish labor to install. It was thought the <br />City would be greatly benefitted to have service piped into this area. Mayor Werder <br />suggested that an overall plan be submitted with the sketch and include the cost of <br />the project. Representatives of the hospital had been in several times about this <br />and the sewer conditions. Councilman Granger moved that City Manager Rolison be <br />instructed to notify the hospital committee that the City will work with them and <br />get the best possible deal on it, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried. <br />PARKING METERS. At the last meeting City Manager Rolison was authorized to place an order <br />for parking meters, but City Attorney Currie advised that in order to comply with the <br />Charter it would be necessary to advertise. Councilman Spillers moved that City <br />Manager be authorized to advertise for bids on parking meters, seconded by Council- <br />man Holmquist, and carried. <br />BIDS FOR TRUCKS. City Manager Rolison submitted specifications on 1-1/2 ton dump trucks <br />for the Council's approval. City Engineer Jain stated that on the previous bid <br />called for, some bidders gave complete details and some merely gave the Model No. <br />Councilman Granger moved that City Manager Rolison be authorized to call for bids, <br />seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE'S REPORT ON NATIONAL MOTOR BEARING PROBLEM. Mr. Currie reported that <br />n <br />he had talked to the attorney for the National Motor Bearing Company, and that it <br />would be better to assemble more facts and figures and report further. Mayor Werder <br />stated he had talked to Mr. Black and suggested that the City Engineer, City Manager <br />and City Attorney meet with Mr. Black, representative of the National Motor Bearing <br />Company. Councilman Granger stated the County was interested in getting the matter <br />settled as they wanted to build a warehouse. Problems confronting the committee <br />were the paving of National Avenue, extension of Broadway and operation of water main. <br />Mayor Iferder stated the Council could meet any time that it was necessary. After, <br />considerable discussion, it was decided to hold a meeting with the.represwntatives <br />of the National Ilotor Bearing Company, City Manager, City Engineer, City Attorney, <br />and Water Superintendent H. L. Winter to represent the City. <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE reported that the Fire Department had contacted him in regards to the <br />possibility of introducing, or looking into the Ordinance on Control of Self Service <br />Gas Stations. There were new regulations and some cities were passing ordinances. <br />Oakland had such an ordinance. Councilman Morgan moved that City Attorney Currie <br />
